Located on the French Riviera in the south of France, Nice is a vibrant city blessed with sunny days and good weather all year around. Nice offers beautiful beaches, long promenades and fantastic attractions.

1. Beaches

With beautiful weather and sun all year long, Nice is a great place for those who love to tan and spend their time in the warmth. Rent a bed on one of the pebbly beaches and enjoy the comfort and luxury offered by selected hotels.

Castel Plage is a very popular private beach and very close to the Old Town, with its own restaurant, which offers a great service for its visitors.

2. Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art

Nice is the place where old and contemporary art come together in a perfect mix. The Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain is located in the city center and hosts a collection of beautiful masterpieces of both European and American modern art, featuring new realism and pop art.

In the Musée Matisse you can admire paintings by some of the most famous modernist artists. Take time as well for a visit to the Musée National Message Biblique Marc Chagall, which offers a collection of biblically themed paintings located in a bunker-like building.

3. Promenade des Anglais

Enjoy the sun and the view of the sea from the Promenade des Anglais, which is 7 km long and stretches all along the coastline.

From here, you can reach the Collines du Château (The Castle Hill), climb the steps and enjoy the landscape and hire a bike or a pair of rollerblades in the Old Town. Along the promenade, there are also many cafés and restaurants where you can have a relaxing lunch while watching people pass by.

4. The Old Town

The Old Town of Nice is the center of the city, and is full of artisan shops, cafés, bars and markets. This area is very active, both at day and night, and it’s the perfect place to have a traditional meal or a drink with friends.

Don’t miss the fish market in Place Saint François and the Cathédrale Sainte Réparate in Place Rossetti. If you like art, there are a lot of artist shops in Rue Droite where you can buy lovely paintings and sculptures.

5. The Roman Ruins

If you are into history, you need to visit the neighborhood of Cimiez and the ruins of an old Roman settlement: Cemenelum. The ruins include an arena, an amphitheater, thermal baths and a basilica.
