overview This programme is designed to combine physical challenge, personal responsibility and environmental awareness with an exploration of the spectacular natural wonders of New Zealand’s Far North. Students will learn the ancient art of sailing amongst a maze of 140 sub-tropical islands; undertake a passage crossing by kayak to an island steeped in archaeological history; and surf the secluded beach breaks of the iconic Tasman Sea.

ACCOMMODATION All accommodation whilst on the Adventure for Good programme is provided for and included in the course fee. An overview of all accommodation is provided below.

TRANSPORT All transport whilst on the Adventure for Good programme is provided for and included in the course fee. Transit to and from the Adventure Centre can be quoted for separately.

CAPACITY This programme is designed for groups of 5, 10 or 15 students. Depending on the number of attendees, the contingent will be broken into smaller groups and the itinerary adjusted so that the activities are carried out in rotation.

FOOD

All food will be provided. Adventure for Good must be notified prior to the course start date of special diets and allergies.

COST The total course fee is $2,480 per student. Course fees include accommodation, food, specialist equipment and transport while on the programme. Transport to and from the Adventure Centre is excluded.

TERMS & CONDITIONS • Should a specified activity not be available due to unforeseen circumstances (poor weather etc.), a suitable alternative will be provided • Please see our website for the payment policy. • All participants must have completed a Health Profile and Medical Consent form. • All participants must have agreed to our programme terms and conditions.

Day Two: Sailing and Seamanship Break into groups Learn sailing techniques including: • Basic sailing theory, emergency drills and safety checks • Knots and basic rope work Pack for sailing trip Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Three: Sailing and Seamanship & Sail the Bay of Islands Board Vessel at 8am Learn sailing techniques including: • Sail handling, tacking and gybing Explore the Bay of Islands Spend the night aboard SV Caliph Accommodation: SV Caliph (Sailing Vessel) Day Four: Hiking & Sail the Bay of Islands Practise learned skills while exploring Bay of Islands Visit Moturua Island Hike Moturua Island trail Arrive back to dock at 4pm Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Five: Build your own Wooden Surf Craft Arrive at Wood 2 Water workshop at 8am Design and Build your own wooden handplane to keep Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Six: Surf Shipwreck Bay 6.30 am Ferry Transfer to Paihia Shuttle from Paihia to Ahipara Gear check 2 x Surf Sessions BBQ on the beach 6.00 pm shuttle to Paihia 8.00pm Ferry transfer to Russell Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Seven: Rest Day Russell Township tour Electric Bike tour Movie Night Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Eight: Sea Kayaking 8am Launch kayaks for skills training Learn Sea Kayaking techniques Pack for Sea Kayaking Expedition Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Nine: Sea Kayaking Overnight Expedition 8am Depart for Expedition Explore Bay of Islands by sea kayak Arrive Urupukapuka Island Set up camp Accommodation: Camping Day Ten: Hiking & Sea Kayaking Hike Urupukapuka trail Pack up camp Kayak from Urupukapuka to base Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Eleven: Reflection, Relaxation and Cultural Experience Morning reflection Ferry transfer to Paihia Shuttle to Waitangi Marae visit and Kapa Haka performance Dinner at Waitangi Marae Accommodation: Adventure Centre Day Twelve Group Breakfast Pack up Depart for home
