WHAT IS PORTABLE RESIDUAL CURRENT DEVICE?

A Portable Residual Current Device (PRCD) is a lifesaving safety device designed to prevent fatal electric shock, when the user is exposed to ‘live’ elements such as bare wires. It can also provide some protection against electrical fires. PRCD’s offer a level of protection that ordinary fuses and circuit breakers cannot provide.
