advocacy. We created a pilot program, Parkscriptions, to promote spending time in nature. Our geographic and demographic scopes have changed along with the people we’ve worked with and served. Through our pandemic pivot, we chose to focus on further developing and merging our Fairhaven Park Stewardship and Parkscriptions programs to create opportunities for the public to get outside. Working together with the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department, Recreation Northwest became Park Stewards for Fairhaven Park in 2014.
