The Next Adventure
Morning Fury

The primary objective of our close-knit climbing group on this backcountry trip was the seldom-visited summit of West Fury in the Picket Range. The Pickets have a reputation for difficulty and isolation, and they did not disappoint. It took us four days to reach this point after contending with less than optimal weather and tricky route finding. This morning we had started our traverse along the summit ridge from East Fury to West Fury early to ensure that we could return with daylight to spare. Occupying my usual spot of anchorman, I had a great view of the crew heading out in the morning light.
