WHITE NIGHT A SUCCESS

PAGES 20 + 21

Thank you to our local businesses and community for supporting White Night Shepparton event on Saturday June 25. The flexibility of local businesses in adapting to changed access and road conditions has contributed tremendously to this events success and we thank you greatly for you cooperation and support. White Night Shepparton saw crowds of over 32,000 from all around Australia take to the precinct featuring Shepparton Art Museum and Kaiela Arts, Victoria Park Lake, Aquamoves, the Goulburn River and our city landscape. With accommodation providers across town booked to capacity. From café’s and coffee shops to retail and attractions, local CBD businesses got into the ‘White Night’ spirit providing special sales offers, unique ‘White Night’ menu items and opening their businesses for extended and additional hours on Saturday and Sunday. The participation of our local businesses contributed greatly to a welcoming whole town ‘White Night’ weekend atmosphere, with visitors and locals continuing the great atmosphere and support in town Sunday visiting attractions, eating meals, having a coffee and going shopping. We encourage you to continue to support our local businesses as we celebrate the success of this event, and the attention it has brought to our region as an emerging arts and cultural destination. School principal, Bronwyn Rose, says that the result was unexpected after an almost seven-month long fight to stop the development going ahead.

“This whole situation has had a huge toll on Councillors, on the students and the whole community,” said Ms Rose. Continued Page 3
