Send business news tips to livelocal@advocatemag.com

Dermal delights

Dallas native Lindsey Pineyro recently opened Unit Skin Studio in Preston Hollow Village with dermatologists Sandra Witten and Dr. Max F. Adler. The studio offers Botox, Juvederm, laser hair removal, chemical peels, acne treatments and more.

Coffee, lunch and treats

Hospitality Sweet , the café and bakery that has flourished downtown for several years, is expanding to Preston Center. Preston Hollow resident Megan Adams founded Hospitality Sweet as a catering business with her sister and mother in 2008. The new restaurant will offer lunches of sandwiches, soups and salads as well as the same sweets that the Downtown location has. That includes French macarons, cake pops, cookies, cupcakes and brownies. The new Hospitality Sweet location could open as soon as January.

Reverse food truck

The NorthPark Presbyterian Church has a new food truck. The two-tone blue truck doesn’t offer artisan sliders or authentic bahn mi, though. This is the Reverse Food

Truck If you see it parked in front of a neighborhood grocery store, expect a volunteer to ask for your donation of groceries. Shoppers can buy food to help financially struggling families or use a virtual food menu to make monetary donations. The church gives 100 percent of donations to its partners, including Vickery Meadow Food Pantry to “put hunger in the rearview mirror.”

New at NorthPark

Two new stores and a restaurant open at NorthPark this month. Sundance carries southwestern inspired clothing and home goods and was founded by Robert Redford in 1989. Peruse the shop on level two, between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. On level one, between Nordstrom and Macy’s you’ll find AG , a purveyor of denim jeans. Designs are sleek and classic rather than trendy. Grab a bite to eat just a few storefronts down at The Theodore , a brand new restaurant from Turn the Tables Hospitality, the company that brought us SMOKE, Bolsa, The Foundry and others.

Partner’s Card

Knock out your holiday shopping before November 8, if you can. That’s the last day to save 20% with a Partner’s Card. More than 750 businesses are participating in the fundraiser, which supports The Family Place, a Preston Hollow-based nonprofit that helps victims of domestic abuse get back on their feet. Shop locally at Cabana, Dr. Delphinium, Swoozies and Tootsies.

Tick Tock

Watches were once a necessity, but in the age of smartphones, they’ve become an indulgence. If you have an affinity for timepieces, check out NorthPark Center’s second annual Watch Week, Nov. 13 – Nov. 15. Learn about the craft of watchmaking, listen to live music and view limited edition pieces by Rolex, Omega and Tag Heuer. Visit northparkcenter.com for details.
