Thanks to more than 300 volunteers, Thomas Jefferson High School received a makeover recently.
Fidelity Investments teamed up with students and teachers to remodel the rooms that serve English language learners and their families. They also updated the family life skills room and painted murals throughout the Preston Hollow school.
The renovations were part of Fidelity Investments’ School Transformation Day, an event hosted by the company’s employee volunteer program.

The popular burger joint finally opened its doors in Preston Royal Village, near Ken’s Man’s Shop and Einstein Bros. Bagels.
It isn’t the only new business coming to the revamped shopping center. Eatzi’s recently started serving customers, along with Sur la Table.

to Spain
This Preston Hollow neighbor was recognized for her service
Janet Kafka’s affinity for Spanish culture started when she was an exchange student at the University of Madrid, and it’s infiltrated every aspect of her life. Her Glendora Avenue home is based on the country’s architecture. She’s served as the honorary consul of Spain since 1997 and has helped the Meadows Museum acquire the most comprehensive Spanish art collection in the United States.
As a way to say thank you, the museum added Salvador Dali’s “Aliyah” to its collection in her honor. The 25 color lithographs were commissioned to celebrate the founding of Israel.
