sTulTs roaD elemenTary sChool was named a National Title I Distinguished School, one of only two in Texas. The honor is the highest level of recognition available to a Title I school in the United States. A school must comprise 40 percent or more students from low-income families to be considered Title I. Tuan iang, a senior aT l ake highlanDs high sChool, received the Rose/Silverthorne Foundation Scholarship, a full ride to any Texas public school. Tuan plans to study pre-med at the University of Texas at Dallas. The grant covers all tuition, books, and room and board, and is valued at $32,000. To be selected, Tuan had to maintain good grades, have financial need and make contributions to the school and community.

John goDbey anD Davis Clark of l akehill PreParaTory sChool won the TAPPS 2A State Boys Doubles Tennis Championship, and their Lakehill varsity team was named state runner-up. Clark, a junior, is a Lake Highlands resident.

lake highlanDs high sChool sofTball Team finished the season with a District 9-5A Championship, and merely two losses on the season. That earned the Lady Wildcats three superlative awards, including district MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

seven lake highlanDs high sChool baseball Players made it on the District 9-5A All-District Team. The first team includes: Dylan Porter, pitcher; Blake Woodson, first base; David Bloodworth, second base; Taylor Stell, short stop. The second team includes: Ryan Spencer, outfield; Beau Barnes, catcher; and Michael Ketchmark, third base. The Wildcats finished the season 15-16, 9-5, ranking third place in the district.
