7.14.11 BASTILLE ON BISHOP FREE Go Oak Cliff, a nonprofit dedicated to making the neighborhood a pleasant place to live, has spent the last three months putting together the secondannual Bastille on Bishop celebration, from 6:30-10 p.m., on Bishop between Seventh and Eighth streets. The event draws attention to Oak Cliff’s historical French roots and to the French artist colony, La Reunion, which settled the area. Taking place on French Independence Day, also known as Bastille Day, community members can immerse themselves in classic French culture surrounded by live accordion music, costumed characters, a Vespa rally and authentic French street food and wine.
