She has given $50 million to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, $25 million to the UT Southwestern Medical Center and $20 million to her alma mater The Hockaday School, among many other gifts. n Broadway star Skye Turner turned 11 in December, and her first feature film comes out this year. Turner portrays young Tina Turner (no relation) in “Tina,” the Tina Turner musical on Broadway. She also stars as young Aretha Franklin in the biopic “Respect.” Filming wrapped in February, and it’s expected to be released in October.
