SALSMAN PROVINCIAL PARK

A picnic park with a view of the harbour. The facility has a boat launch and can accommodate tents and RVs for overnight guests. Great area for swimming.

SHERBROOKE PROVINCIAL PARK

Small picnic park on the banks of the St. Mary’s River.

LOCHIEL LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK

13575 Highway 7, Lochiel

Quiet picnic park under mixed- wood trees. Lake is suitable for boating and swimming.

PORT BICKERTON BEACH PARK

Route 211, 640 Lighthouse Road

A naturalist’s paradise, this beach is a quiet one that stretches along 3.7 km of maintained trails with interpretive panels describing the local flora.

TOR BAY BEACH PROVINCIAL PARK

650 Highway 316, Tor Bay

Picturesque picnic area on a rocky point looks out to the open Atlantic. Sand beaches, boardwalk, interpretive displays.

PORT BICKERTON LIGHTHOUSE BEACH PARK AND TRAIL

Off Route 211 (various distances) A boardwalk meanders through flora to a sandy beach. A great family trail featuring a lighthouse museum.

UNITED EMPIRE LOYALIST TRAIL

On Highway 316, Stormont (2.2 km) This trail acknowledges the Loyalists who settled in the area.

RADAR BASE TRAIL turn right onto Hwy 316 near Cole Harbour

This trail, that leads you to the Queensport Road Trail in Guysborough, highlights the remains of a Second World War airforce radar base, huge glacial erratics (rocks left from the last ice age) and panoramic views from the top.

STONEWALL PARK

Highway 7 – across from Sherbrooke Provincial Park

It is the perfect place to get outside and experience nature in the heart of the community of Sherbrooke. The park has graveled walking trails, boardwalks, platforms over-looking the beautiful rapids of the St. Mary’s River and picnic tables.
