Nursery Newsletter Autumn Term 2013 Dear Parents and carers, We would like to welcome all our new parents to Adwick Primary and we hope you enjoy your time with us. We have lots of lovely activities planned for the children and we are looking forward to an exciting term. This term our learning will be based on the themes……… Autumn 1: All about me The children will learn all about themselves and why they are special. They will explore their differences and similarities compared to others. Autumn 2: Celebrations The children will be looking at familiar celebrations such as Harvest and Halloween; they will also gain an insight into other festivals and traditions. Literacy Autumn 1: Develop speaking and listening skills. Children will be learning about new staff, friends and class routines. Autumn 2: Children will be encouraged to make meaningful marks and talk about their symbols. Reading: Children will be given a story book to take home every week. Please share this book with your child and take time to talk about the pictures, words and the story. Numeracy Autumn 1: Touch counting, reciting numbers, recognising numerals, number songs and playing with 2D shapes. Autumn 2: Simple number problems, measuring and introducing positional language.
