Pupil Premium Grant Expenditure 2013/14 Introduction Pupil premium was introduced in April 2011, the government believes it is the best way to address underlying equalities between children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantages directly reaches the pupils who need it.
