Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority Welcome Letter
TAKING CARE OF TAHOE
Tahoe South is happy to welcome you back to the country’s best celebrity golf tournament. We hope you will be part of a Lake wide effort to “Take Care” of the Lake. As you enjoy the 32nd annual American Century Championship, we invite you to join us as we pledge to be mindful and respectful of this one-of-a-kind national treasure.
The pledge is simple, but the results can be powerful when we all promise to leave Lake Tahoe better than we found it. Tahoe is unlike any other place and following these tenets will help ensure that “America’s Best Lake” (USA Today) will continue to hold that designation for many years to come.
Become a Steward of Lake Tahoe: While captivating in its beauty, Lake Tahoe cannot protect itself. It takes the stewardship of countless, lake-loving individuals to preserve this exquisite natural wonder.
Respect the Environment: Embody the footprint of a ninja and leave no trace.
Keep Wildlife Wild: Keep your distance, and your trash corralled. A fed bear is a dead bear.
Be Fire Safe: It only takes one spark to destroy an environment.
Demonstrate Mindful Travel: Positively impact and show respect to the places you visit.
Be Prepared and Know Before You Go: The Tahoe South App is an excellent planning tool.
