The brief required us to design a cultural centre with an auditorium and an institute. The site is situated along the Mysore-Mangalore highway, which is also known locally as Hunsur road, the site area is 8 acres.
The site is adjascent to the Kukkarahalli lake, with vegetation and buffer space surrounding the site. The sides adjascent to the lake was identified as private zones within the site.
The site is contoured with total contour height of 6.5 metres, with the contour axis running from north-east region of the site to the south-west region, and the north -east region being the highest.
The site was contoured from north-east to south-west with a total height of 6.5m
Two Open Air Theatres were created, one in the public area and one adjascent to private.
Vegetation was provided to bring balance to the natural and built elements.
The site was divided into private and public zones, for accessibility and convenience.
A trench pathway was then created to connect the two ends of the site and the OATs
A Skywalk was created to connect all the public programs and provide canopy.
Grading was applied to the site and seperated creating different zones within the site.
The programs were then zoned based on what each of them demand.
Access and circulation was optimised for efficiency, and to easily access all the zones.
3-star hotel
The brief required us to design a three-star hotel. The site is located along the Mysore-Mangalore highway, which is also known locally as Hunsur road, which measures up to 2.1 acres.
The site is located at a prime intersection, which due to the petrol station located nearby is nicknamed Aishwarya junction. With the site facing the road, there is a significant design opportunity for aesthetical significance and making it a spectacle. But this also gives less room for privacy. The southern end of the site has more privacy since its backdrop is a residentially zoned area. There isn’t much vegetation already existing on the site and the site remains empty giving opportunity to develop the landscape. The site is located in the outer ring of Mysore, with the city towards the center of the entire district.

The first floor, consists of basic rooms that have louvered cladding on the southern side and balconies on the northern side.
Below this floor is the service floor which has the common kitchen. Adjacent to this kitchen is an open cafe and restaurant, which can be accessible from the open stairwell in the ground floor lobby. This restaurant is also accessible from the first floor through a spiral staircase. To support the restaurant, which is of double-height arches are provided which also deliver an aesthetical factor. The floor also contains a gym with attached toilets.
The first typology of rooms has balcony and is facing the northern side of the site. the floor is wooden with bathroom and wardrobe.
The second room typology is south facing and has the louvered cladding facade. The materials and layout is the same as the first.
