PRESENTATION PRESENTACIÓN

This catalogue is a sample of the books published by Valencian publishers during the year 2008. Our goal is to inform all entities, institutions, editors, associations and everybody who is interested in this type of literature created in the Valencian Country and how promotion of literature is carried out. This is a sample of a literary production which, like many others around the world, tells stories from different cultures in order to promote in our societies the solidarity based on knowledge of other lifestyles. We also offer the titles which make up this catalogue as a list of copyrights and publishing rights abroad which must be negotiated in each case with the particular editors. Este catálogo es una muestra de los libros publicados por los editores valencianos a lo largo del año 2008. El objetivo es que todos los organismos, instituciones, editores, asociaciones y personas interesadas puedan seguir nuestra producción, las novedades que ofrecemos al lector y conocer cómo se realiza la promoción de la lectura en el País Valenciano. Esta es una muestra de una literatura que, como otras en cualquier parte del mundo, narra historias de ficción o de conocimiento para alimentar la imaginación y la sabiduría. La editorial Alfredo Ortells inicia su actividad en Valencia el año 1952 y siempre se ha caracterizado por la extraordinaria encuadernación y por el excelente contenido de sus obras. Su fondo editorial es muy amplio y variado, y se divide en: fondo general; literatura, poesía, Quijotes; obras religiosas; Biblias, culto a la Virgen, recuerdos de comunión...; y grandes obras; enciclopedias, diccionarios... Actualmente la Editorial Alfredo Ortells tiene tres catálogos distintos, con gran cantidad de obras, algunas de ellas han tenido unas tiradas realmente importantes.

Alfredo Ortells Publishing House began its activity in Valencia (Spain) in 1952 and has always published special works with wonderful binding and great contents. They publish many different books, divided into the following groups: General Books: children’s books, young adults, poetry, Quixotes…; Religious Books: bibles, Virgin Mary books, remembrance communion books… and Great Works: encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibles… At present Alfredo Ortells Publishin House, has three different catalogues with many books; some of them are really best sellers.

Ramón Gaya was a painter and a writer. His learning and researching spaces were Madrid, the 1927 generation, his Mexican exile, Paris, Rome, Venice and Florence. In 1969 he published this book, Velázquez, Lonely Bird, for the first time, and in its pages he pays homage to one of his main masters. He was awarded with the Premio Velázquez de las Artes Plásticas, the Medalla de Oro de Bellas Artes / Círculo de Bellas Artes, the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas, and became Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad de Murcia.

The reimbursement of these losses supposes an intervention in two simultaneous planes: on one hand, an adjustment to structural level corresponding to the phase of stucco and, on the other hand, an intervention to aesthetic level, which is what we know as retouch or chromatic reimbursement.
