Introduction

This report is a summary of public land use requirements and estimated populations of Outline Plan Areas. The Areas include West Jasper Place, the North East Development Area, Castle Downs, Mill Woods, Kaskitayo and Riverbend-Terwillegar Heights. Detailed structure plans are not presently available in map form for Hermitage, Casselman-Steele Heights or Kaskitayo. The information will be updated when appropriate.

The Parks Master Plan, as approved in May, 1970, established that 1.5 acres of parkland per 1,000 persons should be provided. This figure is equivalent to 65.34 sq. ft. per person and it should be pointed out that in the outline plan areas where this figure is to be applied the ratio of multiple to single dwelling units is much higher than in any of the existing subdivisions in the north-east area.
