With symmetry I provide order and cohesiveness to all my work. In contrast, with absurd subject matter and abstract elements, I convey a sense of chaos.
My name is Jay Callahan and I am from Connecticut. Some of my favorite artists are Leonora Carrington, Salvador Dali, and Johfra Bosschart. Their surrealist works speak to me on a spiritual level - especially the arcane aspects of Carrington and Bosschart’s pieces. Through my work I try to portray the constant battle between chaos and order that exists in our world.
