DAN BUREAU / MONICA MIRANDA The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) is a consortium of 41 associations who collaborate to develop and promote standards of good practice in 44 different functional areas. According to the CAS website, “CAS creates and delivers dynamic, credible standards, guidelines, and Self-Assessment Guides that are designed to lead to a host of quality programs and services. CAS aims to foster and enhance student learning, development, and achievement (Council for the Advancement of Standards, 2018). CAS Standards are written for application by a campus fraternity and sorority advising program (FSAP) and outlines specific expectations that are common across higher education as well as specific to the functional area. The Standards were not created to help headquarters structure their organization but that does not mean they cannot be helpful in doing so. When considering partnerships between a campus and a headquarters, there are a few specific areas within the CAS FSAP Standards that could be helpful in building shared objectives.
