WHO IS PINKERTON? We are the original private eye and we will stop at nothing to provide protection for all citizens of this nation.

THE PAST

THE FUTURE

Pinkerton was the largest private law enforcement organization in the world at the height of its power. Their specialties were transporting money and other high quality merchandise, hunting outlaws and going undercover at industrial companies as spies and strikebreakers. During the labor unrest of the late 19th century and early 20th century, businessmen hired the Pinkerton Agency to provide agents that would infiltrate unions, to supply guards to keep strikers and suspected unionists out of factories, and sometimes to recruit goon squads to intimidate workers. The Homestead Strike of 1892, in which Pinkerton agents were called in to enforce the strikebreaking measures of Henry Clay Frick, created conflicts between Pinkerton

A few businessmen saw the need for greater control of the public; their solution was to sponsor a private surveillance company. This corporate entity eventually evolved into what is now Pinkerton. Our agency works as the overseer of society, whose main goal is to protect you through every aspect of your life. Our specialties are personal and corporate protection, undercover investigation and spying although we personalize our system depending on the situation. The public knows us as a protector, but we prefer to stay as hidden as possible. We pride ourselves on making the public feel safe because they know at all times of the day, we are there watching them. Pinkerton takes it upon themselves to fix the problems they see and try to keep order in

agents and striking workers which led to several deaths on both sides. The last of the Pinkerton family to direct the firm was Robert II, great-grandson of the man who founded it. Upon his death, the agency became a corporation.

Congress appropriated $50,000 to form a suborganization devoted to the detection and prosecution of those guilty of violating federal law.

Homestead Strike, 300 Pinkerton detectives were called in by Carnegie Steel’s Henry Clay Frick to protect the mill and strikebreakers.

1850 Pinkerton is established in Chicago by Allan Pinkerton.

Pinkerton detectives work for industrial companies as spies and strikebreakers, quickly becoming despised by American labor.

1965 1920 Much of its business came from banks and express companies, who wanted to deter robberies.

1930

Name changes to Pinkerton’s Inc. prompted by its general shift in focus from detective work to security services.

2014

1950 Pinkerton suffered from the police modernization movement, which saw the rise of the FBI, the bolstering of detective branches and resources of the public police.

Allan Pinkerton’s great grandson, Robert II, becomes the last of the Pinkerton family to direct the firm.

Pinkerton creates the human monitoring system.

1999 Pinkerton reorganized to comply with government requirements for providing cleared protective services.

The Pinkerton National Detective Agency was a private U.S. security guard and detective agency established by Allan Pinkerton in 1850. Allan Pinkerton became famous when he claimed to have foiled a plot to assassinate president-elect Abraham Lincoln, who later hired Pinkerton agents for his personal security during the Civil War. Pinkerton’s agents performed services ranging from security guarding to private military contracting work. During the labor unrest of the late 19th century and early 20th century, businessmen hired the Pinkerton Agency to provide agents that would infiltrate unions, to supply guards to keep

strikers and suspected unionists out of factories, and sometimes to recruit goon squads to intimidate workers. In 1999, Pinkerton joined with the government as a consulting agency hoping to play a larger role in political control. Pinkerton suggested to government officials and leaders that they wanted to play a larger role in the protection of American citizens. Through advancements in technology Pinkerton created a monitoring system to track each citizen with the goal of keeping them safe. In 2014, Pinkerton created what it is today, the human monitoring system.

Each individual in this nation has an updated profile on hand for all Pinkerton agents. This allows us to have a constant flow of information should a situation arise.

The new system gives us the capability to see each citizen in the most simple terms. Each person is provided an identification number which links to our database. This id number allows us to see each individual at a glance so we can better understand what type of needs they may have. This system is broken down into four basic categories; personal, family, community and travel. By simplifying down to these categories it gives us the ability to focus in on what your priorities are and what types of services we can provide you with. Along with the simplified format, Pinkerton has also created more in depth coverage for each individual. This gives Pinkerton the ability to monitor your information for security purposes. The more important the category is to the citizen, the more prominent that category is shown.

THE NEW IDENTITY

THE MEANING

While Pinkerton was once known for protecting you and your belongings, they now have taken on a much larger role in the world. They have moved from the old times of chasing outlaws on horse and buggy to the high tech modern world of surveillance. Pinkerton should not be taken lightly because they are serious about monitoring the publics each and every move.

This new logo stands for the future of Pinkerton. The strength of the brand is shown through the bold typography and the mark. The mark represents both the intricate nature of the brand because once you let Pinkerton into your life, there is no escape. The eye in the negative space stands as a reminder that you never need to worry because Pinkerton is always watching you enabling you to live your life worry free.
