Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Liberation Day at Hotel Santa Caterina

2020 marks the 75th anniversary of Liberation Day in Italy, a national holiday that commemorates the end of Nazi occupation during World War II. As one of the most celebrated public holidays of the country, 25th April will see scores of revellers in Italy honouring the fallen by holding parades, concerts and food festivals against the echoing sounds of ‘Bella Ciao.’ During a visit to the iconic Amalfi Coast, travellers can explore the region’s fascinating history further by visiting the magnificent medieval Roman Catholic cathedral, Duomo di Sant'Andrea, get lost in the beautiful Villa Cimbrone Gardens and if you’re feeling particularly active, embark on the Path of Gods which not only treats hikers to the most stunning views of the UNESCO listed coast but also gives an insight into an ancient world that once was. In 1880, Giuseppe Gambardella built the original building. Crescenzo Gambardella, his son, renovated the property in 1904, creating the first six guest rooms. Two generations of Gambardella have continued to expand and renovate the hotel - up to the current 66 rooms and suites. Today, the daughters of Crescenzo, Giusi and Ninni Gambardella, assisted by their respective sons Crescenzo Gargano, Alessandro and Beatrice Camera, manage the daily activities of the hotel and personally take care of everything that can make their guests' stay pleasant and comfortable.
