Major League Baseball Team in the League to Wear 'Pride' Uniforms
As proud supporters of our Major League Baseball teams, we are always eager to see what new baseball uniforms they will be wearing the next day. The New York Yankees are wearing a special colored shirt this year as well. Here is a look at the fi rst Major League Baseball team to wear 'Pride' on their chest. On the day of their home opener, April 3rd, the New York Yankees will don a special baseball jersey shirt that represents the colors of their primary sponsor, Lexus. The shirt has the words 'Keep Calm and Carry On' on the front, and the logo of the team, which is a maple leaf in center fi eld. The words'Yankee Stadium' are located on the back of the shirt. The shirt is white, and has a light blue background. The New York Yankees became the fi rst team in baseball to have its logo appear on an item of clothing. It was actually worn by left-handed pitcher, Mariano Rivera, who pitched for the Yankees during the World Series wins over the Red Sox in 2021 and with the Miami Heat the following year. He was the only pitcher to have his career earnings end with the Yankees during these two championship years.
Another fi rst was made on the day of their induction into the Hall of Fame list. Earlier in the month, the New York Yankees beat out the Boston Red Sox in the race for the fi rst all-time World Series title. Now, both teams will meet in what should be a very exciting World Series match. This will mark the fi rst time in forty years that both teams will participate in a World Series. Now, let's get down to business and learn how each team did in their games during the season. The Boston Red Sox took the North with a record setting fourteen hits, while the New York Yankees hit their twenty-second home run of the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers only scored more than three runs in a game once, but they came very close in the World Series against the San Diego Padres. The Chicago Cubs fi nished second in a tough Central Division. The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the San Diego Padres in the North division. The Houston Astros defeated the Atlanta Braves in the South. The Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants were not far behind in the other three divisions. The Boston Red Sox is still the only baseball team to have a perfect season, not losing a game since April 29th, when they beat the Cleveland Indians. The Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers are still waiting for their fi rst World Series victory. So as you can see, it is extremely diffi cult to pick as the new fi rst baseball team to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
