CARING ABOUT OUR STAFF ADELAIDE ALIVE! Adelaide recently came alive when Affordians from multiple states landed in the City of Churches. Team members from HR, Commercial Development, Ops, Property, Support Coordination, Customer Care and more got together for a road trip around South Australia! The trip was a buzz of business and culture as staff members familiarised themselves with Adelaide, taking in the sights and getting a feel for the area and visiting our new hubs. It was the perfect opportunity to inspect our new supported accommodation property in North Gate and our new day program in Holden Hill. The visit was also a great chance to network with fellow staff members in South Australia and put a face to a name.

AFFORD GETAWAYS LAUNCH NEW BROCHURE Afford Getaways are excited to announce the launch of our new supported getaways brochure for 2020-2022! The new brochure is packed full of exciting new holidays for both long and short stays. Over the coming weeks, sites will start to receive their brochures and we encourage you to share these with your clients so they can start thinking about their travel plans for 2021 and beyond. Staff Matters AFFORD’S BUZZIN’ Recently our social media pages have been flooded with teams regrouping and once again enjoying a buzz night out together. We are so excited to see some of our sites starting to get back to ‘normal’ and come together for buzz nights! Buzz nights are a part of the Afford Way and are essential in keeping the team culture alive and having a balance in our busy work life. Afford is expanding under the NDIS, with new states, properties, programs, and clients. This means you may have new teammates around your sites and buzz nights are great way to get to know them and introduce them to ‘The Afford Way’! Some of us may have been working from home and feeling very disconnected from our teams and tribes, having a buzz night with your team is the best way to bring back that motivation and help you feel connected to your workmates! Our culture fosters and promotes teams and tribe’s vibe, where everyone works together to get the job done – we spend a lot of time with our work colleagues, so it’s essential to know and respect your colleagues. Staff Matters HOW TO AT AFFORD: SUBMITTING A FLYER REQUEST Afford sites love to hold events that engage our clients and enrich their experiences with us. With COVID-19 restrictions lifting, we are seeing more sites planning events and bringing our Afford community back together. Flyers can be used for sales or for internal events, they make a great promotional tool and help to get some excitement building for your event! The process for submitting a flyer request is easy, read below how to: The first step is to collate all of the details of your event and make sure you have everything you need for the request. Then, visit the Afford Intranet on your computer desktop and search for ‘Flyer Request Form’. Once you click ‘Form – Flyer Request’, this will download the word document flyer request form. Follow the instructions on the form and fill in the relevant information. All flyer requests need to include: • Name of event • Location • Date & time • Contact person
It is also helpful if you include a small blurb about your event and a photo if you have a preferred image in mind. Once completed email the request to marketing@afford.com.au and CC your manager. Our marketing team will then endeavour to complete your request within 3 business days.
