A Welcome Buzz For Carers and Staff Trivia Afford Reward Of The Week
Our staff social media page has been flooded with teams welcoming the new Affordians to the tribe and posting selfies of the teams enjoying a buzz night out together. We are so excited to see our services grow in NSW. These new locations have been secured as a result of Afford taking over Disability Services Australia sites in Goulburn, Albion Park and Camperdown in NSW. Afford stepped in to ensure the continuation of supports for clients and continued employment for the staff of DSA and welcome them into the Afford community. Buzz nights are a part of the Afford Way and are essential to bringing the Afford culture alive in our new tribes. Caring for our carers is just as important and is part of our whole-of-life approach to disability supports at Afford. Our clients are our priority and we know that our supports need to extend beyond the boundaries of our sites to help carers and their families.

Afford Business Leader of the Year - Jim Win Handyman Timetable Selfies Of The Week Upcoming Events Trivia Answer
The events were a huge success! Goulburn staff celebrated at The Hibernian with a delicious meal and iced cold drinks followed by a fantastic carer function held at the unique and beautiful, Lerida Estate Winery. The following weekend Albion Park celebrations were at Steamers, which offered a breathtaking view of the Wollongong lighthouse. Our Albion Park carers were treated to a fine dining experience at the Lagoon Restaurant, nestled amongst the shallow waters of Wollongong’s picturesque lagoon while the sun set over the water. The celebration will continue this week with our Camperdown staff and carers heading out to celebrate. Thank you to everyone who attended the events and helped spread the Afford culture and bring our tribes and vibes mentality alive! Welcome to Afford!

EVA'S TRI-SERVICE NOTICE OF ADF Remembrance Day is a time of reflection and pause. It’s a day for all of us to remember those who have sacrificed for our nation. One of our very own Afford board members, Eva Ballai proudly has a tri-service in the Australian Defence Force. ADFA is a tri-Service (Navy, Army and Air Force) establishment which combines military and leadership training. Eva was handpicked by the ADF due to her extensive Aged Care experience. Reporting to a naval officer, she will be part of the JHC (Joint Health Command) with not only army, but navy and air force officers as well. “I’ve received an honour from ADF to be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the Aged Care Rapid Response Task Force as part of ADF’s Operation COVID-19 Assist,” said Eva. Eva joined Afford in March 2016 and has over 25 years’ experience in health care, spanning unique breadth of frontline, senior management and board level positions. She has been a Lieutenant Specialist Nursing Officer with the Australian Defence Force and former Treasurer of Special Olympics Australia. Eva has an extensive operation and strategic understanding of health care settings, particularly Aged Care. Her tasking runs from 10 Nov to Tuesday 1 Dec 2020. “My boss told me to make my Unit proud so I will have to try my best!” said Eva.
