The 4Ps of Inclusive Green Finance: PROMOTION
Promotion policies and initiatives prepare and stimulate the private sector to offer financial services for green projects or related climate action activities to qualified beneficiaries, for instance, through awareness raising, information sharing, capacity building and data collection. Here are some examples:
PHILIPPINES
Knowledge sharing and awareness raising on sustainable finance Research and data gathering on the impact of disasters to banking operations Develop a Roadmap for Sustainable Central Banking integrating ESG, values, governance and risk management system
MONGOLIA
Developed the Mongolian Green Finance Taxonomy. Conducted capacity building on green finance webinar for non-bank financial institutions Conducted capacity building on green finance for non-bank financial institutions
THAILAND
Capacity building on ESG risks Established a regulatory working group on sustainable finance comprised of the Ministry of Finance, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of Insurance Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand
BHUTAN
National Stakeholder Capacity Building and Coordination Workshop for the upcoming Green Finance Roadmap Development of a Roadmap that will provide opportunities to develop a long-term strategy of green finance, mobilize finance to achieve Bhutan’s SDG, and to align policies at a national level
BANGLADESH
Revised Quarterly Report on Green Banking Activities of Banks & Financial Institutions and Green Refinance Activities to include reporting of sex-disaggregated data on green finance Issuance of Sustainable Finance Policy which contains green finance and sustainable finance taxonomy
