ABOUT AFLV
The Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values exists to stimulate the growth and development of fraternity/sorority council and chapter leaders by promoting leadership, educational, and values based experiences and resources for student leaders, their advisors, and the larger fraternal market. The Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values (AFLV) is the showcase for cutting-edge Fraternity/ Sorority programming, technology, thinking, and concepts.
Our Vision:
All Fraternity/Sorority members exemplify ethical values
Our Mission: The Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values provides experiences that challenge and encourage fraternity/sorority members to live ethical values and implement best practices.
The annual conferences are the premier programs of the Association. The conferences offer comprehensive coverage of the issues for both men and women and members of all councils and chapter including IFC, NPHC, NPC, NALFO, and MGC. Additionally, the Association provides training and professional development
opportunities for campus advisors, house directors, fraternity/sorority headquarters staff, and volunteers through our various programs and services.
AFLV’s members and conference attendees have direct contact with nearly 3000 undergraduates representing nearly 300 schools and universities. The annual leadership conferences provide educational
sessions, outstanding nationally recognized keynote speakers, and several featured speakers to meet the
diverse needs of its broad audience. AFLV annual conference participants are typically the decision-makers for both their chapter and their councils.

THE JOURNEY The Journey is a service immersion experience that brings together fraternity and sorority student leaders from around the country in a week of service, immersion, cultural exploration, and development of passion and purpose in international and domestic locations of demonstrated need.
It was definitely a lesson in humility and ego. The point of the service we did was never to finish the project just further them along as much as we could so that groups after us might have the opportunity to finish the tasks we worked on. Given that our culture is very product oriented it was a good challenge to find fulfillment in Service which we did not finish in the traditional sense.

During the fall of 2014, we surveyed our members to further understand what we did well and what we could improve on. Our members told us they weren’t feeling engaged, that they weren’t sure what to do with the Fraternal Values Society on their campus, and that they had trouble recruiting members. They said they needed more structure and clearer explanation of the overall purpose.
Fraternal Values Society
On most campuses, there are members of fraternities and sororities who want to strengthen the values conversation within their communities, but they aren’t sure how to begin. The Fraternal Values Society serves as a catalyst for that conversation. the FVS seeks to ensure values are deeply integrated into the contemporary fraternity and sorority experience.
As a result, in January 2015 we introduced new chapter resources aimed to give purpose to the Fraternal Values Society on campuses. The new resources included:
Recruitment Guide
The new recruitment guide introduces 10 easy and effective steps to ensure productive, consistent recruitment in your Fraternal Values Society chapters
Mentoring Program
Now at the core of Fraternal Values Society chapters, the new mentoring program educates our members on how to be effective mentors and mentees in their communities. Members will be trained on how to have healthy, productive mentoring relationships and how the benefits of mentoring will exceed their collegiate years. No more struggling to figure out how the Fraternal Values Society can add value to your community.
Facilitation Guide
Not only are we teaching members how to be mentors, we’re teaching them how to facilitate educational programming in their communities. As peer facilitators, Fraternal Values Society members will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills and benefit the community through identified educational programming, such as ritual education, values-based leadership, or how to build a collaborative community.

Awards & Assessment The AFLV Awards & Assessment Program is designed specifically to assist councils in achieving the highest level of excellence possible in their programming and council management. The documents outline the actions and policies of an ideal council. As such, if councils utilize the program for goal setting and as a guide for action and visionary accomplishment, they will be well on the road to achieving excellence. Participating councils receive a full assessment report that measures both their own longitudinal progress as well as benchmarking them against peer councils.

A national fraternity supports because it believes in the impact our opportunities have on their members. A business supports because they know an AFLV member will be their next CEO. A campus supports because change arrived after students attended an AFLV conference. AN advisor supports because AFLV changed their career plan. A parent supports because they Believe in their son or daughter. A student supports to make a Difference for the next student.
Why will you donate?
Your support of AFLV helps to advance our purpose and increases our ability to provide the best programs and resources to the fraternity/sorority community. Your generosity leads to more access to more students, staff, and friends. Please note that your privacy and security are the Association’s primary concern, all of your information will remain confidential. All gifts to AFLV, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization are tax-deductible to the greatest extent allowed by law.

Honorary and Memorial Giving
An honorary or memorial gift is an appropriate way to recognize someone’s life, service, and accomplishments. AFLV offers opportunities for those who wish to associate the name of a family or an individual with a project, a scholarship, or program of enduring worth. Common opportunities include recognizing the service of campus fraternity/sorority advisors, chapter advisors, and student leaders. Memorial gifts are acknowledged to the family while honorary gifts are acknowledged to the individual.

Partner Highlight:
Teach For America is growing the movement of leaders who work to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education. Teach For America works to eliminate educational injustice by finding, training, and supporting diverse individuals who are committed to equality and placing them in high-need classrooms across the country. Millions of students growing up in poverty lack the quality education that will allow them to succeed—just 8 percent graduate from college by age 24, compared with 80 percent of their more affluent peers. While we value all forms of diversity, we place particular emphasis on recruiting individuals who share the racial or socio-economic backgrounds of the students we teach, 90% of whom are African American or Latino. Corps members who share their students’ backgrounds serve as powerful role models and have potential for a profound additional impact based on their personal experiences.
