National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is a special day set aside on November 15th. It is a special day to recognize and pay tribute to the meaningful contributions that philanthropy — and those active in our own philanthropic community — make to our lives, communities and world. The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional organization for individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of nonprofit, charitable organizations. AFP advances philanthropy in society by enabling people and organizations to practice effective and ethical fundraising, and fulfills its mission through education, training, mentoring, research, credentialing and advocacy. AFP members and affiliates enable people and organizations to better serve diverse communities and the Association as a whole. The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central NY Chapter, serves Central New York, Northern New York, and the Mohawk Valley. Please visit for afpcny.org for more information. Diversity Statement Just as you are. We strive to value each of you just as you are. Our diversity is our strength. No matter your race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, size, physical or mental abilities, we will work to ensure that you feel included and welcome. Your input is important in helping us reach and understand the diverse communities that we serve.

Outstanding Corporation
In 2019, the C&S Foundation, Inc., was established to put the power of giving into the hands of our employees. The Foundation supports qualifying non-profit organizations nominated by C&S’s employees. The C&S Foundation stimulates positive impacts to humanitarian, educational, and community causes through financial support and volunteerism in the areas where C&S’s employees live and work.
The C&S Community group fosters community spirit throughout the organization, develops programs that align with the organization's values, and encourages every employee to participate in some form of volunteer or charitable service. This team was organized to increase the number and variety of opportunities available to make a positive community impact. The group believes that it is their collective responsibility as a good corporate citizen to support those in need. In doing so, everyone as individuals can also make a difference. Pictured below are teammates who lead the community/philanthropic efforts at C&S, Jennifer Smith and Terry Hopkins, and President & CEO, John D. Trimble.

Outstanding COVID-19 Hero
The Syracuse Mets, the Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Mets, are honored to be nominated for the 2021 Outstanding COVID-19 Hero Award. Together with the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, we were able to dedicate our time and resources to giving back to those most in need during the pandemic. The Central New York community was impacted in many ways by COVID-19 and with the help of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, we were able to donate a brand new refrigerated truck to the Food Bank of Central New York, feed essential workers, help local little leagues and support the community during the many obstacles faced in past year and a half. The Syracuse Mets are more than just a baseball team, they are dedicated community members of CNY, working to give back to those in-need all year round. The Syracuse Mets & the Amazin’ Mets Foundation would like to thank the Food Bank of Central New York for their nomination and for the positive impact they have on our community.
