Welcome and Keynote Dr. Eric Bean - Resilient and Adaptable Leadership in an Age of Disruption Leadership is challenging, exciting, stressful, fulfilling, and, at times, exhausting. Like any year, leaders experienced a range of emotions in 2020 but with the additional realities of the Covid-19 pandemic, many of the positive experiences of leading were muted while the negative ones were amplified. In 2021, leaders continue to face challenges with Covid-19 as well as continued demands for remote work, zoom fatigue, and an increased prioritization for mental health within their teams. In his work with elite athletes, executives, and high performers across industries Dr. Bean has observed that people either crumble under stress, bounce back, or become stronger. In this presentation, Dr. Bean will discuss how to become a Resilient and Adaptable Leader by building greater selfawareness, increasing mental flexibility, and exploring how to lead others through periods of high stress.

Second Session with Dr. Eric Bean Purpose Driven Performance At the heart of being a Resilient and Adaptable Leader is self-awareness of your strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and, most importantly, your purpose. As a result of 2020, many people are reexamining their purpose as our work experience during the pandemic compelled many of us to reevaluate our work-life priorities. In this breakout session, Dr. Bean will guide participants to further enhance their self-awareness by examining the science of purpose, the role purpose has in being a Resilient and Adaptable Leader and how a clear purpose serves as the basis for a leadership philosophy. Participants will be provided time and guidance to cultivate their own leadership philosophy.

THRIVENT Beginning in 2005, Thrivent entered into a national partnership with Habitat for Humanity International in support of affordable housing throughout the United States. Up until the end of calendar year 2020, Thrivent and its members have contributed more than $267 million and more than 6.1 million volunteer hours to Habitat affiliates throughout the nation. Thrivent, since the national partnership was launched, has supported Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity (PPHFH) in El Paso County, Colorado in support of providing decent, safe, and affordable housing. This partnership still exists today, 16-years since its launch. Thrivent’s generosity and care for low-income families throughout El Paso County, has meant that it has been the lead sponsor for 15 new home builds, committing more than 50% of the cost to build a home (including land). By the nature of new home construction, nearly each year since Thrivent's first sponsorship the cost of building has risen on the previous year. This however, has not deterred Thrivent from providing a gift to PPHFH that is at least 50% to build, with year upon year the donation increasing to match the cost of home building.
The local Thrivent office team commits time to help build houses, bring lunch for volunteers, and reach out to others to help lift up families. Thrivent also encourages local churches, faith organizations, and companies to give to these projects by donating funds and/or in-kind services or materials and giving their time to volunteer with PPHFH to work side by side with future homeowners— collectively coming together to build affordable housing for local families.
