Africa e Mediterraneo is a six-monthly journal that, since 1992, has presented and articulated issues of

culture, history and society in African

countries. It’s addressed to people who, for professional, didactic or cultural motivations, are interested in investigating problems relative to this continent.

monographic dossier, articles of Literature, art, Cinema, Music, interculture, Cooperation and Education for Each edition contains a

development, Immigration, etc. The Columns section contains books and movies reviews, information on Art exhibitions and meetings. The content of the Journal is issued in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, with a small Italian translation and an English abstract.

The public is showing a growing interest in the products of

African creativity and its professional authors: this represents an important section of study for knowing this continent better. Many projects and activities of the Lai-momo Cooperative directly involve

African comic-strip

writers: among these (in collaboration with the Africa e Mediterraneo Association) are the institution of a prize for the best unpublished comics which includes the publication of each edition’s catalogue, the Common Value collection, and the

Africa Comics collection.

Lai-momo has published various

art catalogues

covering a wide range of concepts: from the catalogue for the Africa Comics exhibition hosted during the 2007 DEV-DAYS,

George Zogo or Ernesto Shikhani. to the works of African artists as

educational guides edited by Lai-momo offer to teachers tools and materials for using comic The

strips in classroom work. Based on different topics, these guides develop, some concepts found in the

comic strips,

spoken in a dialogue, embodied by a character, or interpreted in the actions of the protagonists.
