The Vision >> Entertain – Motivate – Inspire <<
South Africa has a proud heritage of single-seaterr racing and boasts two designers of multiple world championships for Brabham, McLaren, Benetton and Ferrari as well as a World Champion, Jody Scheckter, in 1979.
AFRIX Motorsport (AFRIX) was formed to purchase a world-class motor racing series and relocate the show to South Africa to create a professional platform that will, once again, inspire and motivate deserving talent.
From the sixties through to the eighties, South African talent was motivated and inspired due to South Africa hosting a domestic F1 championship as well as a world championship event. Sadly, South African motorsport has disappeared off the radar and there are no modern motorsport international events at all.
AFRIX now owns a unique series utilising Ferrari singleseater racing cars. These cars, birthed from Michael Schumacher’s most successful Formula One car (Ferrari F2004), provide AFRIX with multiple possibilities.
T The initial aspect of the AFRIX venture is to create a levelp playing-field series for professional drivers to develop a and demonstrate their talent as they progress through tthe ranks of motorsport. A AFRIX will bring in a lot of talent and expertise that will be o of great value to the local youth pursuing a career m motivated by a passion related to motorsport. As the v venture progresses, AFRIX will create supporting cchannels for local youth to access motorsport and d develop their skills and talents.

The Concept >> Location – Price – Product << This venture is based on the opportunity to exploit the following factors: 1.
Location
Being in the southern hemisphere, South Africa enjoys exceptionally good weather during the northern hemisphere’s winter where the weather is so adverse to track events that very little happens over a period of 6 months from October to March. This makes testing for the new season confined to time on a simulator. While this is fairly sophisticated, it is a poor substitute for actual seat time. Transporting a team with its infrastructure to warmer climates, such as the Middle East, is prohibitively expensive. Rookie drivers in GP2 and World Series Racing tend to use their first season of racing acclimatizing and are really only able to challenge for the championship from their second season onwards. For drivers, time is of the essence, as a certain amount of points have to be accumulated over four years to earn a Super License to drive in F1. The FIA allocates these points for finishing places in the lesser formulae. Testing and racing in South Africa in a high performance car, comparative to a GP2, is a massive advantage as a pre-season type summer school. This allows for an unparalleled competitive advantage for the drivers moving up the graduation ladder to F1. This timing opportunity is not new. In the past, F1 teams and aspiring drivers took advantage of the Tasmanian Series in Australia and New Zealand and the Springbok Series in South Africa over this period. Neither of these series currently operate and F1 testing is highly regulated, disallowing such testing to take place.
2.
Price
AFRIX has acquired sufficient spares and tooling to limit its exposure to imported requirements to the absolute minimum. Its overheads are all Rand based whereas the potential earnings are Dollar and Euro based. This allows AFRIX to be incredibly pricecompetitive and to operate with a sustainable financial model. Drivers are currently paying large sums of money to race in Europe and so for a fraction of the price they can gain the experience in a world-class series in South Africa.
3.
Product
The third and arguably most significant opportunity relates to the product. To elaborate, A1GP commissioned Ferrari to build the A1GP car with a Ferrari V8 engine. AFRIX secured the best-known brand in motorsport, namely Ferrari. A ready-to-race series, which had challenged F1 at the top of motorsport. This places AFRIX in a position where any comparative machinery and opposition would be very expensive, if not prohibitively so. This places AFRIX in a unique position regarding hosting a series, which is unrivaled in the world.
Pre-season testing in all the top end single seater series is regulated and drastically limited. South Africa is not regulated and has the necessary infrastructure available.
AFRIX is perfectly positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.

Ultimate Assessment >> Equality – Cars – Grid << Cost and experience have naturally determined a hierarchy at every level of motor racing. It is imperative that a driver wishing to advance his/her career selects the best funded, best staffed and best equipped team in the series he/she intends competing in. An average driver in a great car often wins whereas a great driver in an average car seldom, if ever, wins.
AFRIX offers the platform for the ultimate assessment for racing drivers.
EQUALITY: > All cars are identical, even to the extent of weight adjustments being made to accommodate drivers. > All the cars are prepared in-house, by AFRIX, to a predetermined setup.
A True Level-PlayingField...
> All data-logging information harvested is freely shared with each driver. > All drivers have the same right to enhance their performance by mastering settings available to them during the race weekend. The performance of the car is reliant on the driver’s ability.
THE CARS:
Sophisticated and Powerful machines...
> These Ferrari powered and designed cars are sophisticated, powerful machines deploying advanced aero-dynamics and technical settings . > Mastering this series equips the driver with the skills and experience that qualifies them for any level of trackside motorsport.
THE GRID: > There will be a minimum of 16 professional drivers. > All drivers will be motivated with a significant cash prize and the prestige of becoming the AFRIX Champion > The competition for the driver will be immense.

The Charity Drive is an exciting, unique concept that will incorporate worthy causes into the racing while providing entertainment for the spectators.
The Coverage >> Live – Worldwide – Relevant << Motorsport is one of the most watched sports in the world. These Ferrari powered and designed cars have an international following and, with international drivers participating, the world will be watching as AFRIX provides maximum exposure with a comprehensive production package. The package will be familiar to that of Formula One with added features being introduced due to the capabilities of online platforms.
AFRIX will stream the races live on YouTube. YouTube has over 1 billion subscribers worldwide and streams content to multiple devices at any time. Utilising this platform will not only allow AFRIX to provide motorsport content worldwide but also take advantage of streaming multiple feeds simultaneously. An example of creating value to spectators is allowing them to always stay onboard with a driver during the race. Spectators will also be allowed to share content with family and friends in a familiar fashion. This virtual experience, along with commenting, will make the content more interactive and illustrate the relevance of the AFRIX production package.
AFRIX will broadcast on local networks. After the first five races A1GP reached an average audience of more than 8 million viewers per race. SABC achieved an impressive market share with nearly 10 per cent of all viewers tuning into A1GP during it’s first season. AFRIX will offer the content to local broadcasters to air live as the intention will be to increase exposure for stakeholders involved and reach audiences on a traditional platform.
LIVE MOTORSPORT ACTION BROADCASTED ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR EVERY EVENT.
