‘ “Passports of My Ghosts” was created after recent tragedies in the AAPI communities and it touches upon erasure and the ghosts of our past, present, and future. These altered images of bureaucratic identification become maps of disappearance and confusion. These are documents of ghosts, where they have lost their identities to become a part of the systems of legality and government.’

After Illusion is an online residency opportunity for artists, writers, and creatives at any stage of their career. Residencies take place twice per month and are two weeks in length. At the end of each residency, a zine is put together about the resident’s work, and published online.

This residency is all about creatives supporting creatives, and is run by an artist. Freedom of expression is the residency’s main focus, with no themes or emphases put in place. Creatives are allowed to take their residency in any direction they so wish.

You can follow our residencies on Instagram by following us: @AfterIllusion
