THE GARDEN VIEW: HOUSING PROJECT SEMESTER 7TH
PROJECT : Housing and plaza, catering to mixed income groups SITE : Sector 61, Golf Course Extension Road, Gurugram, India The project objective was to make a kind of masterplan that serves to all types of income groups. The masterplan was then used to form different clusters of housing typologies. Even though housing was the main objective ou group had to also create plaza areas, playgorunds, jogging tracks and villas along with the various housing typologies. Further we had to design a central garden which would act as the heart of our project.

MIXED USE HOTEL IN JANPATH SEMESTER 6TH
PROJECT : Mixed use hotel SITE : Janpath, New Delhi, India The obejctive of this project was to create a 4 star hotel with a marketplace and also with other facilities like an auditorium and a banquet hall. The site is an extension of a powerful context. With LIC building by Charles Correa and the Connaught Place market being some examples of the major built context, the site was faced with two options either to go along the built morphology of the site or go against it.
13
CONCEPT DIAGRAMS
ORIENTATION
MULTI-FUNCTIONALITY
To create a connection with the LIC building it has been oriented in a way such that it creates a visual perspective and an axis in the middle.
Other ammenities are added and placed according to specific perceptible connections they make with the surroundings.
CUT OUTS
STEPPED FORM
Cut outs are made to treat the sharp edges facing the main entry points hence trying to create a visual relationship with the viewers.
To break the bulky facade gradual depressions are made, creating a step like form.
MATERIALITY The ground floor has been colonnaded and finished with a white plaster to have a relation with the basic arichecture of the CP market. The subsequent floor has been fixed with red sandstone panles similar to the ones used in the LIC building.
14
SITE AXONOMETRIC The site is surrounded by many significant structures and areas like the Jantar Manta, LIC building, the Janpath market and Connaught Place all creating the context of the site. The Hotel rather than standing out tries to blend in with these surroundings and tries to create a conversation with them.

The elevation on the north hand side has been treated with big fenestrations to let in maximum north light. Windows have been designed keeping in mind aesthetics but have not been made to look too flamboyant. The collanaded and white ground floor is visible from this elevation, and similar material can be seen on the top most floors in order to frame the entire elevation.
NORTH ELEVATION
The South side has been treated keeping in mind the harsh southern light and how to incorporate it. Louvers have been added in recreational spaces trying to break the monotony of the facade. Angluar protuded windows have been used for the same reason.

COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN SEMESTER 5TH
PROJECT : Institute for Architecture and Design SITE : Vasant Kunj, Delhi, India The projects aim was the design of a creative arts college having two courses. The studio faces the challenge of exploring the idea of institution and define our own brief, identify contextual responsibilities and positions which will help in making a conceptual thought into an architectural form.

BRIDGING
VOID CREATION
The building is placed in such a manner that it bridges the two parts of the site.
To get better views of the ravine a void is created in the middle.

DIVISION
Each facility or space is connected to each other by unique paths. Some covered, some open or semi covered
Spaces are divided in such a way that public facilities are put in front and private facilities are moved behind
CONTOURING Slopes and steps are cretaed keeping in mind the contours. Cut outs are made in the building to create interactive and recreational spaces for the students.

Library & Students
The college’s ideology is based on the concept of hands on work hence a direct route from the main entrance is created which leads to the workshop area, a place where students are expected to spend most of their time. The library and the auditorium being the two public spaces which are open to all after college hours is placed right in the front. There is also a separate pedestrian entrance for the auditorium on the left hand side. Other than nthese two facilities, a gallery on the right and the main adminstrative office on the left has been provided.

AN ARCHITECT’S HOUSE SEMESTER 2ND
PROJECT : Farm House SITE : Yamuna Expresshighway, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh The aim of this studio project was to create your own brief, where you are the client and the designer. The challege here was to see how you are able to come up with a narrative and create an architectural form according to it.
25
26
The form of the house was determined through the various site constraints like the coutour level, solar orientation and wind movement. The idea was to have a structure come out of the grounds and create a sloped form. After reffering to the design philosophy of Corbusier, the idea of having an open plan was realised, where spaces are divided according to the varrying furniture and area.

ANDC TROPHY NASA 2016-17 TOP 50 In India
PROJECT BRIEF : The project deals with the challenge for creating an intervention that would affect all aspects of people, place, space, as well as design. The notion of parallel projection was to be incorporated in the design. After understanding the brief a skywalk for the city of Mehrauli was devised, a place well known for the “Qutub Minar a famous monument constructed during the Mamluk Dynasty during the early 13th century. Since then this monument has remained as the one and only identity this city has. So, the idea of this design was to create a walkway which would showcase the other elements of the city such as its food culture, local shops and ofcourse the other historical structures that in time were over shadowed by the Qutub Minar.
CONCEPT DIAGRAMS
The buildings at a height of 12m have been highlighted

Junctions and columns are placed according to available area, with distance of 20m
Skywalk crosses the roads perpendicluarly with minimum blockage of sunlight
Suitable roofing and shading devices have been provided to facilitate certain views
KEY PLAN OF MEHRAULI
DESIGN ELEMENTS
Metallic mesh like roofing provided at regular intervals Several eateries are opened on top of the skywalk hence providing incentives to the local people as this is a potential source of income.
Wooden arches, as roofing, covering the eateries/ observatory, looking into the mehrauli Archaeological Park.
Focused views: Directing the views by using visual blocking devices to avoid trivial sites.
As the skywalk has different levels there is an unristricted view of the Adam Khan’s Tomb.
Jali pattern used to cover columns to add aesthetic quality.
Rainwater harvesting systems have been incorporated in the skywalk.
