MGS 2019 Technology for tourism development

Over the years, the MGS Entertainment Show has pivoted towards a wider technology and innovation focus at its exhibition, as part of efforts to respond to Macau’s position as a “world tourism and leisure center”.

The show will be held on 12-14 November 2019 in Macau, promising to facilitate business opportunities between exhibitors and buyers, whilst introducing new technologies to the industry.

“After years of effort, MGS has gradually become one of the important trade platforms in the entertainment industry in the Asia Pacific region. This year, MGS will introduce new exhibitors with self-developed technologies and hope to create a positive influence on the tourism and entertainment industry in the Asia Pacific region,” said organizers.

The exhibition, held at the Cotai Expo Hall at Venetian Macau, will feature seven distinct areas of focus, including Leisure Technology, Gaming Equipment, E-sports, Security Systems, Integrated Resorts (IR’s), Procurement Fair, Hotel Supplies Securities Systems and Environment Protection & Sustainability.

The conference portion, in partnership with Sina Game, will consist of four major sections, including Transformation and Innovation of the 2019 Gaming Industry; Sina Asia E-sports Industry Summit; Sail Scientifically and Survival and Challenges of Overseas Living; and Future Development Trends of 5G Cloud Gaming.

The show will also be cooperating with ICBC for the first time, to host a seminar on the topic of SMEs and smart finance, named ‘ICBC facilitates Macau’s apposite diversification of economic development by supporting the growth of local SMEs, driving the development trend and impacting smart finance.’

In addition, MGS is also working with telecoms company CTM to present the latest in 5G technical applications at their “Experimental Hall.”

Interesting technologies to be seen on the show floor includes an interactive indoor cleaning robot named iSmart and Viggo, as well as a VR device named Pilot Era8k Panoramic Camera, which allows users to attend all sorts of events in virtual space, such as conferences, concerts, and games.

Of course, a wealth of innovative gaming products and machines will be on display across the show floor - which will see government officials from various Asian countries, along with academics and senior management from integrated resort operators in attendance.

Assembling the Latest EGEs

APE

Asia Pioneer Entertainment Holdings Limited will continue to gather talents in Electronic Gaming Equipment (EGE), with Jumbo Technology, Konami Australia, Spintec d.o.o., TransAct Technologies and SEGA Sammy CREATION showcasing their latest and the greatest hit products at the 2019 MGS Entertainment Show.

This will be the seventh time APE has participated in the show.

Optimized for the Asian market, the linked progressive game series, Golden Blocks and Ba Fang Jin Bao series designed with Chinese graphic symbols and themes together with Cai Lai Si Ji titles, will also be displayed on the booth.

End of Edo is set in a period of Japan’s history known as the Fall of Edo – a time when the country’s militant, samurai rule was brought to an end and power was restored to the Emperor.

As 2019 starts to wind down, many are reflecting on the year that was and where to for 2020.

Attention remained on the US, as states continued to enact sports betting legislation there. But, in turn, this generated excitement for the potential in Asia, with many suggesting that the market there could be worth a lot more.

And there are a lot of reasons for this. Asia as a whole has a huge population, there are a variety of sports that are popular and technology and mobile penetration are huge in several areas. Like many emerging markets, Asia is quite fragmented. In some countries, sports betting is still considered illegal, while others have legislation in place. Additionally, amongst the regions where sports betting is legal, there are variances as to whether it is allowed online or in person.

Despite this, the benefits of legal betting, both commercially and from an integrity perspective, are there for all to grasp. And if this continues to catch on in Asia, there are plenty of reasons why operators of all sizes should be looking to make plans for the region now if they want to capitalise on the foreseeable future.

Given the size of Asia, it is important to do your homework, looking at both the trends that currently exist, with one eye on the horizon. Generally speaking, Virtual Sports, Fantasy Sports and Esports continue to prove popular in Asia. From a product and service perspective, many of our customers operating in the region rely on our Virtual Sports solutions as well as our betting and integrity services for their Fantasy Sports or Esports offering.
