Tribal education This year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) returns to Las Vegas, to take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center from October 14 -17, 2019.
T
he conference and exhibition is presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and organized by Reed Exhibitions, and is a staple of the global gaming industry’s calendar of events. The show boasts that it is as being the largest gathering of global, commercial and tribal gaming professionals in North America, with more than 27,000 gaming industry professionals in attendance. With expanded educational tracks and firsthand experiences with new products, G2E 2019 will cater to everything from traditional casino fare to sports betting and non-gaming amenities to digital products. Returning to the show this year is the Sports Betting Symposium (SBS), which will gather experts from around the world to share their experience since the United States Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) last May, opening the gates for states and sovereign tribal nations
to legalize sports betting and establish safe and effective frameworks for consumers. “This is a monumental time for sports betting in America, and with so much progress since our inaugural Sports Betting Symposium last year, we’re excited to expand the program to explore the latest in this brand-new U.S. market and continued growth opportunities for states and sovereign tribal nations.” The conference segment will also place a spotlight on the tribal gaming industry. On the Monday, D.J. Eagle Bear Vanas, the internationally-acclaimed motivational storyteller, leadership speaker and member of the Ottawa Nation will deliver a keynote speech. “Tribal gaming is a true success story in communities across the country and an essential component of G2E’s educational program,” said Allie Barth, vice president of industry relations for the American Gaming Association. “D.J. Vanas is a pioneer in the tribal community and is an asset to our tribal gaming educational program,” said Korbi Carrison, G2E’s event director. “We are thrilled to have him share his leadership and intuition with the world’s top gaming leaders at G2E.” Also featured is the return of G2E Las Vegas’ “Innovation Lab”, a series of fifteen-minute TED-style talks and demo kiosks, where attendees can learn about cutting-edge technologies such as disruptive technology, new uses for existing technology, emerging trends. “It’s important that we provide a platform to address key topics at G2E that may dramatically affect the gaming landscape,” said Barth. “Now in its fourth year, the Innovation Lab has evolved to inspire conversation and spark creativity on issues like artificial intelligence, cyber defense and more.” The Innovation Lab will feature 20+ different sessions encompassing innovation and technology throughout the gaming ecosystem.
