WHY DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE HARRISBURG AREA?

We moved to the Harrisburg area three years ago from southeast Sioux Falls . We chose the Harrisburg area because it is a slower, more small town life . Harrisburg has everything we need such as Ace Hardware, Fareway Foods and all the smaller, locally-owned stores . In the three years we have lived here, Harrisburg has grown substantially and appears to be exploding . It is becoming a very self-sustaining community .

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY’S BUSINESS.

Tom and Andrew started Yardscapes, LLC, two years ago . Andrew has experience in commercial and residential property maintenance, and is licensed . Yardscapes, LLC, is a lawn maintenance company which offers mowing, trimming, fertilization, weed control, tree trimming, spring and fall cleanups, aeration, and other services the customer may request .

Andrew runs the operational side of the company . Tom assists Andrew in the daily needs and operation of the company. Judi handles the finances, and office duties. She is also in charge of marketing.

The best thing about doing business in Harrisburg and southern Sioux Falls is that the people have a smaller town attitude that translates into better relationships between us and our customers .

WHAT DOES YOUR FAMILY DO FOR FUN?

We enjoy outdoor activities. We do a lot of camping and boating .

We have done family vacations to Hawaii, Disney World, Disneyland, Sea World, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Pasadena, Calif., for the Rose Parade, San Diego Pier, Bozeman, Mont ., Seattle, Wash ., the Black Hills, and many others. We have always done these trips with our family .

SANFORD HEALTH INVESTS IN HARRISBURG COMMUNITY

As the city of Harrisburg continues to grow, so too do the needs of the local community . To ensure those who live in and near Harrisburg can have the best quality of life, Sanford Health has announced four major projects benefiting all residents – young and old .

SANFORD HEALTH HARRISBURG CLINIC

With a larger population comes a greater necessity for patient care close to home . A new Sanford Health clinic within Harrisburg city limits means community members no longer have to travel outside their neighborhood to receive expert primary and specialty care .

Construction on the Sanford Health Harrisburg Clinic broke ground in mid-March 2021. Located at the northwest corner of Cliff Avenue and Willow Street, the 16,000-squarefoot space will house up to eight physicians in varying specialties . These specialties include family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, laboratory and radiology . There will also be an attached Lewis Drug store for pharmacy needs .

An expected completion is planned for the summer of 2022 . With its opening, people in and around Harrisburg will have access to cutting-edge equipment and exam rooms in an off stage/on stage space designed to improve the patient’s experience .

HARRISBURG COMMUNITY SPORTS COMPLEX

Sanford Health believes in partnering with communities to improve the overall health and wellness of those who call the place home . A donation by Sanford Health toward the new Harrisburg Community Sports Complex will allow athletes and sports enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to push their passion, dedication and training further . The facility will feature baseball and softball fields, a playground and splash park.

Participating in sports is an excellent way for youth to learn healthy habits for life, and a premier sports complex in Harrisburg helps advance Sanford Health’s commitment to improve youth development through sports . Once it is open, local kids can train on and off the field.
