ADOLESCENCE Adolescence is a challenging developmental time for all humans. And during this stage, the body experiences hormonal changes, mood swings, and skin problems. Hence, in this phase, body and skincare are essential. According to the WHO, adolescence is a stage between 10 and 19. And this period involves the early adolescence (10 to 14 years) and late adolescence (15 to 19) years.

The skin is the largest human organ because it covers our entire body. Its function is to isolate and protect the other organs; for that reason, its role is fundamental in our health. On the other hand, healthy skin is beneficial for us in aesthetic terms. During adolescence, the skin, like the rest of the body, is subject to enormous changes. Puberty and its drastic hormonal dynamics cause some alterations that can be annoying and cause teenage insecurity. In the same way, young people are not usually careful, causing their skin is not so healthy. In this sense, it is vital to explain the importance of healthy skin.

Face Skin

Adolescent facial skin almost always requires some extra care. Indeed most teenagers experience acne, blackheads, or pimples, especially on the face. These annoyances are due to excess fat caused by hormonal production during puberty. But acne and pimples are not severe if you take care of their skin rigorously.

ACNE Acne is one of the most common skin diseases of adolescence, as it affects almost 95% of individuals with varying degrees of severity. And this condition is one of the most frequent reasons for consultation and referral to a dermatology specialist.

Acne is a chronic disease of the pilosebaceous apparatus, including black and white dots, papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts (in the most severe cases). And juvenile acne is the most common form of this disease.

BACTERIA

On the other hand, the skin microflora (Propionibacterium acnes) can trigger immunological and other reactions. And it may also cause inflammation. Likewise, if the inflammatory process persists, deeper skin structures will be compromised, creating nodules in different stages of evolution.
