Money Benefits If you have a low income, you may be entitled to means-tested benefits to help with your day-to-day living costs. If you live with a partner, are married or are in a civil partnership, your combined income and savings will be taken into account when assessing means-tested benefits.
Pension Credit Pension Credit is a means-tested benefit for those who have reached State Pension age and are on a low income. There is no capital limit and the amount you could get may be higher if you have a disability, caring responsibilities or are responsible for certain housing costs such as eligible service charges and payments under a co-ownership scheme. Housing Benefit Housing Benefit provides means-tested help with your rent and eligible service charges if you are over State Pension age and have a low income. To apply for Housing Benefit, contact your local council or visit their website.
