RESOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR!
more the Classroom to be Using Technology inuctive, and Innovative! organized, prod
Ed u ca tion a l T ec h n o l o g y R e s ol ut i o ns . . . Using technology in the classroom is one of the trends in education in order to successfully teach students in the 21st century. As educators, it is our responsibility to integrate these tools and skills so that our students can “power-up” at school, not “power-down.” Here are some things to think about when you consider your professional resolutions!
DEVELOP A PERSONAL LEARNING NETWORK (PLN): New ideas are constantly being shared online through PLNs. Educators are blogging, tweeting, and posting new information all the time. 2011 could be the year for you to join in! Click on the link below for some technology integration resources that I am sharing to start your own PLN. There are also some links to other resources...
http://web.me.com/cmstechnology/ HooksettTechnology/PLN.html
Get the most out of your instructional time...
ls o o T e Onlin Video Lesson Plans Make SubPlans Authentic... Sometimes it is a lot more work to have a sub and the instruction is not always up to par... Well with the help of technology you can fix that! Try using some online video tools to create a video lesson plan. Here are some resources... Vimeo, TeacherTube, VoiceThread, Animoto, etc. http://vimeo.com/ http://www1.teachertube.com/ http://voicethread.com/ http://animoto.com/education
COLLABORATE ONLINE: Are you looking for a new way to team teach or conduct group work? Try some online collaboration tools such as Google Docs or Wikispaces. You can collaborate on one file so you do not need to keep track of which version it is. With most of these services, you can track changes.
http://www.wikispaces.com/ http://docs.google.com/ BECOME A DIGITAL CLASSROOM: Put your classroom curriculum online for students to access at home. An easy way to do this is to utilize a service that we already have... Homework Now! With Homework Now!, you can upload files, audio clips, videos, etc. Revamp your handouts!!! There is even a mobile app for parents and students to stay connected!
http://www.homeworknow.com/
Templates Why Reinvent the Wheel? Don’t start from scratch! Use a template that is already created. Download a template and have the students use it, or tweak it to make it fit your needs. What a time saver! http://web.me.com/cmstechnology/ HooksettTechnology/Integration.html
SlideShare Upload Presentations Online... SlideShare is a free Web 2.0 tool to upload powerpoint and keynote presentations.
