To all of our Veterans past, present and future; as well as your families and friends we thank you for all you day each day for our country and for each of us each day.

1. Veterans Day was originally known as “Armistice Day” a name change occurred in 1947 and Veterans Day was not the official name until 1954.
2. Veterans Day became a national holiday officially in 1938; it always is celebrated on November 11 no matter the day of the week each year.
3. The U.S. is not the only country that celebrates Veterans Day. Countries including the U.K., Canada, and France also celebrate to name a few.
4. Veterans Day differs from Memorial Day in that the day has always been monumental in celebrating all Veterans both living, serving, retired, and those who have passed on.
5. There is an estimate which states there are at least 19.1 million Veterans in the U.S.
