MA graduation project, Obrońców , Stalingradu 17, Szczecin 2015 The project is an inslatation consistsing of paintings, collages and photographs, five videos, simple 3d animation and an object.

And then razed forest came and I came too close. [...] I stopped at the edge. Someone was right behind me. I crouched down into the terrain, wedging myself into the black soil and nearly touching the sky with my nose. I was watching. I was listening. He was right behind me. He approached the edge on my left – nine feet away. Crossed the edge and vanished under the blue plane. To lose him..It couldn’t have been so easy. (fragment of a dream story, that became the structure for the project)

The course of history does not run linearly. Things happen, repeat themselves. People are not omniscient spectators capable of comprehending the world and history in their entirety. A diamond cut with irregular edges embodies my own story. The meaning of every single one of its facets eludes me although I know they exist. The project represents an intricate construction out of the intuitively selected images and videos that were discovered, appropriated or created. The form alludes to a dream sequence. Separate components acquire meaning only by means of juxtaposition, montage or editing that allow them to build a joint narrative. Doppelgangers appear even though I do not call them. I recognize myself in the 20th century painting by Henri Martin. I am Maja Plisiecka while I dance for 14 minutes to Ravel’s Bolero. I edit out the words of Bataille, Cortazar and Kundera until they fit perfectly into own story. The project’s title derives from the poem by Czesław Miłosz.

KINKER, video, 00:12:02:16, 2016 ENTRANCE THROUGHT THE EXIT exhibition, Dom Słowa Polskiego, Warsaw, 2016 Camera B understood in the relation with Camera A represents alternative vision. Worse quality images, voyeuristic, o en seen from behind a curtain. It shows something else than usually seen. A backstage of the reality? Camera B is an eye that can see much more. My Camera B is the night-vision mode that I use. I build the story according to my intuition. It oats and intensify. It is extending. Repetition lets you immerse into it, shoving the camera aside, there are signs that reminds us of changing ‚places’ - like you could immerse yourself in water and wake up somewhere else, in another story and in another place. Dom na Kinkerstraat / The House on the Kinekstreet / animation 3d, 00:05:14, 2016 Animation is a plan of the House, which is a constrution of the Kinker’s house. Each room represents another story. The plan is keep on turning, frames from the night-vision shots are trying to place themselves in the right spaces. A guest is trying to follow the “broken” narration, balancing between two and tree dimensional world.
