Vitrification VitSet Set for vitrifying embryos or oocytes in OPS straws Your advantages OPS and SOPS straws are known as as the ideal containers for vitrifying oocytes or embryos. Due to their extremely small diameters and minimal freezing volumes, the process of cooling is so fast, that crystallization in the medium and the cell can be avoided. Since OPS straws stay open, the danger of contamination of the cells exists while being stored in liquid nitrogen. Besides this, it is hardly possible to correctly label the OPS tubes. With the VitSet both points are solved: after vitrification of the OPS straws in the nitrogen bath, each OPS is the placed in a larger labelled straw while surrounded by nitrogen vapor. This larger straw (0.5 ml) is already closed at one end and lying on a special block. Afterwards, the other end of the larger straw is sealed with a hand held sealing unit, while it still remains in the nitrogen vapor. Finally, the sealed straws are stored in cassettes in the storage container.
VitSet, highly insulating styrofoam block with 3 stainless steel elements: Stainless steel vitrifying bath Nitrogen vapor bath Packaging bath includes stainless stell loading rack for 0.5 ml straws, 50 sterilized OPS straws, 50 sterilized 0.5 ml straws, closed at one end, for receiving the OPS straws, 20 flat cassettes for storing the straws in liquid nitrogen, 2 tweezers for handling the OPS and the 0.5 ml straws, 1 fine marker for labelling the 0.5 ml straws, 1 DVD with vitrification instructions Ref. In Vitro Production VitaeCell
VitaeCell is an embryo culture system based upon the microchannel technology. It provides an excellent simulation of the biological condition. Embryos can be “parked” in individual microcells while the microfluidic system maintains a controlled movement of medium around the embryo. VitaeCell is designed to be used not only for culturing, but also for sorting, testing, evaluating and fertilizing, as well as other procedures and manipulations, all without the need to remove the embryo from its primary culture device. In its most simple configuration, the VitaeCell provides a secure and isolated culture cell for a single embryo, allowing progressive controlled modification of media to meet the changing requirements of the developing embryo. Even in this basic configuration the limitation of static culture is virtually eliminated and the need for repetitive, disruptive embryo handling and media changes are dramatically reduced.

Mariensee Computerized Time Lapse System Long-term recording of multiple cell cultures in a controlled environment
The Time Lapse System Mariensee consists
of a computer controlled microscopy system with on-stage mounted incubation chamber. It allows to study the kinetics of embryonic development without interrupting the conditions of incubation. Temperature and gas atmosphere in the incubation chamber can be adjusted individually. Up to 30 cell culture microdrops in a Petri dish can be observed individually in one recording cycle with a length of up to 7 days.
The computer controlled microscope stage moves each drop in defined intervals (between 30 sec. and 30 min.) to the observing objective where a video recording is taken. The records of each single drop position are digitized and stored in individual files. Single pictures and sorted time lapse movies of each group of cultured cells can be produced. An image analysis tool allows for object measurement on screen.
