background The limitations of formal schools in providing guidance to each student and the ability of students who have their unique characteristics in the learning process, as well as parents’ limited knowledge of school materials, are the main reasons for the existence of a learning institution.
concept The main concept of this design is to provide easy access for the community to take additional learning outside formal schools and provide a shared learning space for the general public.

The concept of water utilities is made into one continuous zone from the basement-rooftop floor with a gravity distribution system /roof tank system. The concept of artificial air conditioning utilities uses a type of AC VRV where one outdoor unit can serve various rooms. AC VRV has high energy efficiency and flexibility in temperature control.

background Based on the Karanganyar district spatial plan article 7 paragraph 3 and article 8 paragraph 2, states that the Colomadu sub-district is part of the regional urban system plan, which has main function as a center for the development of trade and service activities (Perda Kab. Karanganyar 2013), where Colomadu sub-district already has many facilities such as hotels and universities that spread in the area. Colomadu sub-district is also a peri urban area (WPU) of Surakarta city. However, Colomadu sub-district does not yet have a special economic area/shopping center/ mall that can be easily accessed by the community.

concept Solo Central Park is a shopping center/mall that carries a concept that integrates the mall as a visual communication media/advertising and outdoor public space. Solo Central Park presents a contemporary architectural design with an interactive facade. Solo Central Park can be used as a medium of visual communication media for the community in delivering information.

Balai Warga Code Barcode is a public space building for the people on the banks of the Code River. This building can also be used as a place for gardening with the vertical garden method and can be used as a children’s playground

background The people who are on the banks of the Code River, especially this site generally come from the lower middle class and do not have space to socialize properly, so they use road access as a place to socialize. In addition, the area also lacks adequate greenery. Therefore this building was created to accommodate the social needs of residents and make these activities more productive while at the same time providing greenery space.

Apart from that, based on the results of the interviews, the residents felt that the existing buildings were not used effectively due to rainwater ingress.
