The opening of the new headquarters will concur with the return to the offices and workspaces after the pause imposed by the pandemic. As companies and their teams prepare for such a return, some questions are being posed with urgency: How do we use our offices? Are The environments they offer still appropriate? How should the new postpandemic workspaces look like? And how could they overcome the inertia of the home-office tendency?
This project argues for a new reinterpretation of the workspace, and adopts a programmatic layout that links the company's slogan: "we have the dream of uniting people for a better world" to the concept of “encounters” in the city. This idea of using qualities of the city as sustenance and organization for our proposal, allowed us to conceptualize the new office-space as a sequence of places that bring inside the experience of walking around streets, parks and urban blocks (public, semi-public and private spaces):
a true city inside the city that brings people together.

#CiudadQuilmes
a place for encounters.
The city originated from the encounter between people, and today it continues to be the meeting place par excellence: It is the scenery of our lives. This is why it is embodied in the program’s layout, representing so forcefully in its essence what the beer Quilmes means for Argentines: gathering.
#Streets
public thoroughfare.
The streets or corridors have the particularity of always being visually connected with the outside, leading into open squares facing the river's façade with direct entrance of natural light. The experience of walking through these streets (unlike traditional dark corridors) allows users to easily recognize and find the most suitable place for the activity to be carried out.
#Squares
open spaces for community gatherings.
The "squares", clearly defined by their geometry, equipment and lighting, will always count with wide direct views towards the city and natural lighting, giving place to all kinds of relaxed, solitary or group-activities in the right environment. Their transition to the more formal areas (the "blocks") is made through coffee spots and stand-up sectors.
#Blocks
working areas.
Blocks, understood as the semi-public and private areas of the city, are defined by the “facades” that build the perimeter offices: meeting rooms, quiet or huddle rooms, phone booths and coffee spots, each one adapted to satisfy its needs. Inside the blocks, in the areas towards the outside of the building’s floor, one can find the more traditional areas (open offices) whose characteristics of natural lighting and views according to their position, will mark the personality.
A new paradigm
These concepts of the city give shape to the programmatic matrix of the proposal, therefore, the logic of its internal subdivision does not respond only to a technical-functional reason but also a conceptual one that gives unity to the proposal.
It is necessary to apply a balance between the virtues (in permanent change) of technological support and the need to provide pleasant, innovative and motivational places for people, which can give them security and familiarity, over uncertainties of permanent or superficial change.

A city within the city...
The program separates itself from the main facade to allow the greatest possible entry of natural light and wide views to the outside. Other activities and services such as kinesiology, beauty and recording room, among others, are located in the Southwest angle, near the entrance to the 26th floor.
All the decisions and ideas that guided the development of this project contributed to the materialization of a place that, beyond contemplating each of the functional, technological and constructive demands and requirements, places people at its center and as its raison d’etre:
“El lugar del encuentro” - a place of encounters.

Space for more than one species
Human beings have an innate affinity for all living things. In architecture and interior design, this translates into the use of plant species in the field of housing or work to create an environment closer to Nature. It is proven that this connection contributes to our well-being and a better quality of life, giving us greater positivity, energy and happiness.
