REMNANTS OF A SILK FACTORY “Remnants of a Silk Factory” is an immersive landscape experience situated in Kfarmatta, a village located in Aley district of Mount Lebanon. Defined as a cultural attraction, Kfarmatta, is home to one of the oldest and largest silk factories of Lebanon, that forms a unique inseparable relation to the terraced landscape around it. This terraced landscape represents forgotten agricultural landscapes in Lebanon, and is home to the mulberry trees - a key element of the historical silk production.

Summer 2021. The [UN]BALANC ED. Amid growing populations and expanding urban sprawls, the revitalization of empty spaces takes center stage, as empty building plots become increasingly rare, ESDU’s new engagement center is one such example. 12
The Streets and the People are 2 areas of focus chosen by the team. The proposed design includes a series of Green Fingers which used to infiltrate people to the inner part of Rimini
The Spaces are re-envisioned, and delianated according to specific criteria as Pedestrian Friendly

GEMMAYZE IN A GLIMPSE Our analysis project will be focusing on the Gemmayze street, and its context. Gemmayze street, also known as rue Gouraud, is a mixed residential and commercial street in Beirut. It competes with the trendy villagetype neighborhood of Badaro, as one of Beirut’s bohemian quarters. The district is full of narrow streets and historic buildings from the French era. The neighborhood is well known today for it’s trendy bars and pubs, cafes, restaurants, and lounges. We will be analyzing the street in terms of history, character of the street impact of the explosion on the surrounding area, as well as land use and activity types

By taking away one car parking spot and replacing it with an area where children can play outdoors with no fear of traffic, we help the community and provide more urgently needed quality urban space. The ParticiPLAY project started out as a group project at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and has been developing as a pilot project with Nusaned for a greater purpose for children in Lebanon ever since. This project was done with a team of multidisciplinary professionals
