I have eleven years of experience in the MENA region with a wide range of urban and architectural projects that have culture, cost and environmental context aware designs. As a Senior Architect, I was and am still responsible for a variety of projects such as mixed-use urban developments, educational buildings, hospitality projects, commercial and residential complexes for major developers in UAE and MENA region. Currently, as a Head of Urban Design at Rawasem Architecture Workshop responsible for the urban design of remarkable running urban projects in Cairo with two giant Emirati developers. From 2012 to 2015, I was working with Dewan Architects and Engineers, Dubai as a Senior Design Architect and I was responsible for Mecca gate development project, Samarra University, Green community Extension project, Nad Shaba Shooting Club and many other projects as shown in my resume. From 2011 to 2012, I joined Zuhair Fayez Partnership, Riyadh Branch as a Design Architect and was responsible for Information Security Institute - Ministry of Interior, Counter-Terrorism Committee Building and Saudi National ID Cards Printing Centre. Client: H.H. Shiekh Khalifah Bin Zayed AlNahayan Foundation & Emaar Misr. It is a sustainable productive development accommodates 16000 residential units and built on a land area of 500 acre located on Cairo -Suez Road. Proposed to be a symbol of excellence in new community design, and planned to provide community integrated housing .

Food Production Valley: The area of food production is calculated per each zone as same as the other facilities (educational, Health etc...) To cover the neighbourhood needs. The Housing hills are overlooking these valleys as a "green lunges" for the project and connecting all the residents with the main soul of the project.

Woonerf (Living Street): Is a street designed with the interests of pedestrians and cyclists in mind and as a social space where people can meet And children can play legally and safely. The Profitable Social and Environmental Management (PROSEM) mechanism for local areas in an effective approach that helps to reach a profitable economic model, sustaining the environment, achieving social justice and maintaining quality of life to all business actors. Meanwhile, obtaining business goals and customer satisfaction that keeps the business growth within profitable model that is based on Zero Non Product Outputs (NPO’s).


Development strategies • Consolidate the historic heart of the triangle • Fix the corners of the triangle, while opening the sides to link with the surrounding •Increase accessibility and internal linkages whether vehicular or pedestrian, while avoiding crossing traffic, in addition to creating public spaces of different themes • Dealing with the entire area as one entity, by merging the urban fabric and uses in different areas, and allowing smooth transformation and interaction between residential area and investors area •Create local economic development opportunities and schemes, building on the local community resources, and create opportunities for other new comers to reside, visit, work and invest into the area Considering the right to development of this local area, integrated development approach to sustaining this community was developed with the local community, guiding the urban planning team through what we called the Reverse Maspero Process.

The Diagrams above and the section in the left explain the anatomy of office Buildings and commercial street (Qasaba) beneath it. The office vehicle traffic was separated and lifted above the pedestrian commercial Qasaba for the purpose of activity and accessibility separation. Client: Ministry of Higher Education. The university has sprawling campus with total built-up area 2.6 million sqm and hosts 16 specialized colleges, research centres and laboratories, conference hall, central library, student and faculty residences, social and cultural centre, sports facilities, agricultural farms, the deanship building, mosque and many other facilities.

Authenticity and contemporary Samarra is the only remaining Islamic capital city that retains its original plan. The design challenges is to create vibrant urban fabric reflecting current cultural and political dialogue between Authenticity and contemporary in Iraqi community. Client: Ministry of Education. Japanese Government It was an international Architectural Competition, a group of master Japanese and Egyptian architects was invited . EJUST campus is located on 200 acre, in the New Industrial City of Borg El-Arab, south-west of Alexandria.

Client: Ministry of Antiquities, Luxor Governorate , ACCOR Company for hotels and Egyptian General Company for Tourism & Hotels. It is a 74 rooms hotel extension overlooking Luxor Temple and connected to Winter Palace historical palace. Also our scope was including redesign of Luxor Temple Plaza, visitor centres and facilities.

HISTORICAL WINTER PALACE It is a historic British colonial-era 5-star luxury resort hotel built in 1886 by the Upper Egypt Hotels Co., located on the banks of the River Nile in Luxor, just south of Luxor Temple, with 86 rooms and 6 suites. The Palace has attached luxuriant tropical gardens in the back.

Client: Dubai Properties. Damascus (Part of Mudon project) is a mixed use urban development designed to mimic Damascus old city monuments, courtyards and alleys.


Master plan COURTYARD SYSTEM The unique architectural type of courtyard system is the basic spatial unit that organizes multiple scales of the city's functions, ranging from the smallest dwelling unit, to large clusters of public institutions (khans, wikalas and mosque.

HISTORICAL FABRIC SERIAL VISION AND SPIRIT The challenge is to capture the historical fabric Serial vision and spirit, and to mimic the architectural character in buildings that are divorced from the original urban order in real Damascus.


HISTORICAL LAYERING Damascus is characterized by its Roman traces of the orthogonal grid with its major urban clusters, the latter throughout centuries of subsequent encroachment has been transformed into an irregular pattern of urban morphology. NATURAL AND REGIONAL SETTING The city is Located between series of hills and network of green valleys and streams , Chiefly Barada River, which bounds the old city from the northern direction establishing a soft natural edge.
