a) Aftermarket swingarm frames are allowed, including Champion, Cheney, Redline, Rickman and Trackmaster. b) 1972-up alloy-cylinder H-D XR750s are prohibited. c) Norton 850s are prohibited. d) 38mm maximum fork tube diameter. 14.2.6 LIGHT VINTAGE: Open to all machines 1990 and older up to and including 300cc. Custom tubular racing frames allowed. 14.2.7 HEAVY VINTAGE: Open to all machines 1990 and older 301cc and larger. Custom tubular racing frames allowed. 14.2.8 LIGHT BRAKELESS: Open to all machines 1968 and older up to and including 300cc. The motorcycle engine, transmission and frame must be from the same manufacturer and model. An aftermarket rigid racing frame may be substituted, e.g., Sonicweld or Swanson. 14.2.9 HEAVY BRAKELESS: Open to all machines 1968 and older 301cc and larger. The motorcycle engine, transmission and frame must be from the same manufacturer and model, an aftermarket rigid racing frame may be substituted, e.g., Sonicweld or Swanson. 14.2.1050+: Riders age 50 or older on any AHRMA class-eligible machine. 14.2.11 NOVICE: A non-championship class for entry-level riders on any Sportsmaneligible machine; displacement breakdowns for 0-250cc, 251-600cc and 601750cc may be run, but will be combined into one class in the instance of a low rider turnout. 14.2.12 SUPPORT CLASSES: May be run as support classes at the promoter’s discretion. Modern Support Classes: • 250 Pro/Am • 450 Pro/Am • Hooligan (multi-cylinder, 700cc and larger production machines) • Mad Dog (four-stroke, air-cooled up to 150cc) 14.2.13 SPANISH CUP: All air-cooled Spanish motorcycles (Bultaco, Montesa, Ossa) to 360cc. 14.2.14 EXHIBITION CLASSES: AHRMAdirt track exhibition classes include: a) Board Track and like-design dirt track machines b) Two-valve speedway machines (on soft tracks where conditions allow) 14.2.15 A rider is allowed to receive a waiver, at no charge, exempting the rider’s machine from all DT equipment eligibility rules except for: engine displacement, model year of engine, and safety items. Upon receiving the waiver, the rider will remain eligible to win or podium (including trophies) in his/her class, but only receive 80% of the normal championship points for his/her finish. Waivers are available upon request at trackside registration.
14.3 RACE PROCEDURES
a) Riders may “bump up” from one period class to another, providing the machine meets all the rules of the newer-period class (e.g., a Classic oval-track machine may run in Sportsman after attaching brakes). Machines may not move up to a larger displacement class. b) Shifting gears is allowed during any event in any class. c) Brakeless and brake-equipped machines must never occupy the track at the same time, either in practice or during competition.
