Virtual Tour of NYC’s Historic Landmarks

The August LU event held on the 4th had a great turnout with over 50 attendees. A post-event survey indicated attendees ranked this a 4.5/5.0. A special thank you goes out to New York Landmarks Conservancy and Peg Breen for the great shared content. While originally planned to be a onsite boat tour, the Pandemic environment led to a webinar version of this event. The tour consisted of a discussion of 26 of the city’s historic buildings, from museums, to churches, to libraries and beyond adapted from the YouTube video series “Tourist in your Own Town”. Take advantage of the wealth of additional videos available online. If this content and the webinar was interesting and informative please feel free to make a nominal donation to the Landmarks Conservancy at www.nylandmarks.org. The NY Landmark Conservancy formed in 1973 and is dedicated to preserving and protecting the extraordinary architectural heritage and character of New York City.

Live ARE Coaching Session and Exciting New ARE Prep Offerings

This was a very informative event in which one of the co-founders or Architecture Exam Prep, Eric Corey Freed, gave a great overview of study techniques for the 5.0 ARE. Most importantly, beginning to think “like an architect” while reading the questions and to keep it simple and not overthink what the question is really asking. Overall, the event was quite helpful in learning how to gain the right mindset, confidence and personal schedule to begin or continue to the ARE process. Following the presentation, AIA Associate Members were notified of the heavily discounted Architecture Exam Prep licenses available through the AIAENY chapter, and one lucky member received a free license. We hope you can join us for the Next EP event. Visit and follow the EP Instagram feed at https://www.instagram.com/e.a.e.n.y/?hl=en for additional information.
