Information System on Trade and Integration

A comprehensive online gateway providing information on integration and trade in Latin America and the Caribbean. The system includes in-depth data on trade agreements, detailed statistics on imports and exports, and indicators that measure the structure and performance of trade. The scope of the databases and their level of detail make INTradeBID a unique resource for the region.

TOPICS Legal Framework > Trade Agreements: Basic facts, detailed chronologies of the ratification and subsequent amendments, and complete official texts of nearly all trade agreements in force in the region. > Indexed Texts of Trade Agreements: Flexible indexation of trade agreement texts based on a detailed set of keywords that allow easy research, sophisticated comparisons, and the generation of negotiation proposals. > Double Taxation Agreements: Official texts of agreements detailing the jurisdictional balance of tax liabilities for businesses operating in multiple countries.

Market Access > Most Favored Nation Tariffs: Non-preferential customs duties applicable to imports of the countries of the region, specified at the most disaggregated level. > Preferential Tariff Phase-Out Schedules: Searchable database of product-level preference margins and preferential tariffs applied over the phase-out period, as defined in trade agreement annexes. > Rules of Origin: Uniquely structured product-level database of the technical criteria determining whether a product is eligible for preferential market access.

> Tariff Rate Quotas: Quantitative restrictions on preferential tariff treatment, specifying the quota volumes, the in-quota and out-of-quota tariffs, their evolution over time, and expiration dates; up-to-date TRQ fill rates for selected countries. > Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards: Depth and coverage of SPS provisions in trade agreements; SPS-related border rejections; trade concerns reported to the WTO and involving LAC countries; and certification procedures for private standards.

Statistics and Indicators > Trade Statistics: DataINTAL, a free-access database reporting annual and quarterly bilateral trade flows in value and volume at the tariff-line level; transport costs, insurance fees, and duties are available for selected countries. > Integration and Trade Indicators: A comprehensive set of defined and customizable indicators to assess the trade performance and analyze the trade policies of the countries of the region. > Analytical Datasets: Access to a wide range of downloadable datasets suitable for analytical use.

Information System on Trade and Integration The system is organized by topic and type of user, with interactive modules that facilitate access to the core databases in a user-friendly way. Information is provided through tools tailored to different needs: businesses seeking to take advantage of trade agreements to import and export, government officials preparing for new negotiations, and policy analysts monitoring trade trends.

TOOLS For Business Exporters and importers can identify with a single tool the market shares, preferential tariffs, TRQs, rules of origin, and SPS and other standards related to any specific product. Additional tools also provide valuable up-to-date information for doing business across borders. > Step by Step Information for Exporters > Rules of Origin Interpretation Tools > Tariff Rate Quota Fill Rates > SPS Regulations and Causes of Border Rejections > Private Standards Certification Procedures > Requirements to Export Food and Feed

For Negotiators Government officials can perform comparative research on the treatment of specific products across different trade regimes. Specific tools facilitate the preparation of negotiation texts and allow interpretation of the rules of origin, identifying materials that must be sourced within FTA partners to qualify for preferential access. > Indexed Texts of Trade Agreements > Preparation of Text Proposals > Preferential Tariff and TRQ Phase-Out Schedules > Rules of Origin Interpretation > SPS Provisions > Double Taxation Agreements

For Analysts Specialists analyzing regional trade and trade policy can access and download detailed information on preferential regimes in force in the region. The coverage and aggregation of the datasets and indicators can be customized to fit specific purposes. > DataINTAL Trade Statistics > Analytical Datasets > Integration and Trade Indicators > Trade Agreements Profiles and Full Texts > Preferential Tariff and TRQ Phase-Out Schedules > Rules of Origin
