Use this guide to assist a Prospect who you’ve referred to startAVON.com to begin her Avon business. Copies of the screen pages are included with key points you should note with the prospect.

startAVON.com Home Page

Here is the startAVON.com homepage or start page. As we do with many online sites, you may see a picture of a different prospect on the home page. On the top-right, are information links. FAQs – This section opens a list of commonly asked questions and answers about becoming an Avon Representative and about the using the online process. These are typical questions a Prospect might ask. The Opportunity for You video presentation. There are instructions in the middle of the page and then a place to enter the Reference Code to begin the process. For Titled Sales Leaders, it’s the last part of the eRepresentative URL e.g., for yourAVON.com/msmith775 the reference code is msmith775. For DSMs, the Reference Code is the letter D followed by your 4-digit District number, e.g., D1234.

1. Personal Information

On the Personal Information page: The information the Prospect enters is the same information that you currently collect using the contract card. It’s important that you let Prospects know that to be appointed online they must have a valid email address and phone number. The amount of credit an online Prospect receives is based on the information they enter in the Credit Information area. This includes: how long they’ve lived at their current residence and whether they rent or own their home, the source of their income, having a bank account, and their driver’s license number. It’s important for Prospects to be thorough and accurate when they enter this information. Online Prospects must enter their Social Security Number. The online Prospect also can select their language preference, and optional origin of classification. -3-

2. Terms and Conditions

On the Terms and Conditions page, a Prospect is given the option to: Participate in the Preferred Preview program Consent to the Publicity Release details Agree to the Terms and Conditions of Avon’s Independent Sales Representative Contract. You should recommend that Prospects read this page carefully so that they know what they are agreeing to when they become an Avon Representative. They must also click the I Agree button to move on to step 3.

3. Appointment Fee

On the Appointment Fee page, a Prospect enters the credit card information to pay the $20 online Appointment fee. ƒ You should remind the Prospect that the startAVON.com website is secure and that their credit card information is safe. ƒ Also remind the Prospect that they will have a chance to review their information before they submit it in case they need to make corrections.

4. Confirmation

On the Confirmation page, an online Prospect can view a summary of the information s/he entered on the previous pages. They can click EDIT and correct any incorrect information. When the information is correct, the Prospect clicks the Submit and Pay Now button. This completes the online contract and charges the credit card the $20 online Appointment fee.

Welcome Greeting

When the Online contract is completed, the Prospect is now an official Avon Representative. A Congratulations and Welcome page will display with details about the new Representative account: Account Number, District Number, District Sales Manager’s name and telephone number and Upline Leadership Representative’s name, if applicable. Contact Information Shipping/Billing Information Credit Card Information The new Representative also can click a link for a Checklist of details that will help them get their business started. (See next page for a copy of the Checklist.) Remind the new Representative to write down their Account Number or print this page so they can access yourAVON.com and begin training online right away.

Getting Started Checklist For Representatives who begin their Avon experience at startAVON.com, the Getting Started Checklist is their first list of things to do to begin their business. This is something the new Representative should print and refer to for their initial guidance. The checklist includes: Things to do right away – exploring yourAVON.com, viewing the Opportunity video, thinking about dreams and goals, and their Who Do You Know list. Things to do when they register at yourAVON.com – access Beauty of Knowledge training, enroll as an eRepresentative, order Avon business cards, and create a personal web page. Things to do when they receive their Appointment kit – review the Getting Started booklet, get familiar with the brochure, prepare and distribute brochures for your first order, follow up with prospects District Managers and Sales Leaders must follow up with the new Representative in the next business day to: Answer any questions. Welcome Emails and the Appointment Kit New Representatives will feel welcomed and acknowledged by Avon almost immediately. A welcome email introduces the new Representative to yourAVON.com and the wealth of information it provides. This email invites the Representative to explore yourvon.com and to participate in the Beauty of Knowledge online courses. It also describes new Representative incentives. Other Avon emails also will be sent. The new Representative will receive the Appointment kit within a week of the online Appointment and an email to confirm when it is shipped. With the exception of the Contract Form and Contract Scoring worksheet—because they have already completed these steps online—the Appointment Kit is identical to the Appointment Kit given at face-to-face Appointments. While waiting for the Appointment Kit to arrive, the new Representative can begin training at yourvon.com. There, they also can enroll as an eRepresentative and begin online submission. You’re the key resource for a new Representative’s success. You know that new Representatives sometimes feel confused and overwhelmed. Your job as is to see that each new Representative receives the individual mentoring and information they need to get their Avon business off to a strong start. startAVON.com Frequently Asked Questions What is the total investment required to start up my business? The cost of starting your own Avon business is less than a family dinner at a fast food restaurant. As you complete the process on the next several pages, you will receive full information about getting started in your business. Will I receive materials to start my business? You will receive 20 Avon brochures (10 each for your first two selling campaigns) along with product samples and sales training and reference material. As a new Representative you also have the opportunity to purchase selected products and samples at special promotional prices. What is a selling campaign? The two-week selling period supported by a brochure that offers customers different products 26 times a year. What information will be required from me in order to establish my account? As an Avon Representative, you will be given an automatic line of credit, as such we will require the standard personal information that is requested whenever credit is extended, including your social security number. How much can I make selling Avon? You will receive 50% commission on beauty products in your first order, regardless of the size when your order is placed online. Throughout your Avon career, you can continue to earn as much as 50% on beauty products, depending on your order size. You will also earn additional income by recruiting, training, and mentoring new Representatives. Do I have to keep products on hand? At Avon, you are never required to keep a stock of products on hand. You may find, however, that your customers have personal favorites that are helpful for you to have available for last-minute needs. In addition, as a Representative, you are offered exclusive promotional opportunities to purchase products in advance. How often do I have to place an order? Avon has 26 sales campaigns throughout the year. Each campaign reflects a two-week selling period marked by promotional offers and/or new product introductions. Contacting your Customers every campaign gives them the opportunity to purchase their Avon favorites, see new products, and take advantage of special offers. You'll find that contacting new and potential Customers on a consistent basis will result in your placing an order each campaign. How long does it take to receive my order once it is placed? You will receive your order within 2-3 business days after the order is submitted. How do I receive future brochures? Every two weeks, you will place a product order. At that time, you will purchase your future brochures. Brochures are always ordered four weeks ahead so that you will have them in plenty of time to include them in your Customers' orders, and to share them with new potential Customers.

Do I have to pay for shipping, or do my customers pay a shipping fee? As long as you place your order on-time, there is never a shipping fee for you. If you wish to receive an order at a different time from your regular scheduled delivery you have the option of receiving it for an additional fee. You will also sell through a personal website. Your customers can either order products that will be shipped to them directly from Avon or that will be included in your order for you to deliver to customers. How do I pay for my order? After receiving your order, you will submit your payment just before placing your next order. This gives you time to deliver your orders and collect payment from your customers. You can pay online directly from your checking account using Avon Quikpay or pay by credit card. Am I required to attend meetings? Avon offers extensive on-line training that you access 24 hours a day, seven days a week to enhance your business. Your District Sales Manager, or the Avon Representative who referred you to this site, may hold group meetings in your area designed to share product training or program incentives. If so, you will be contacted in advance in order to add the event to your calendar. Do I have to have parties? You are not required to have any parties. However, many Representatives find group selling to be a very lucrative way to sell more products, broaden their customer base, and build their network marketing organization. If you do choose to participate in group selling, Avon offers various training and support materials to assist you. Is it hard to sell Avon? Avon is one of the best known brands in the world, which makes it easy to sell. What happens after I sign up? In a few easy steps, you can become an Avon Representative and start your own business. Promptly after you sign up, you will receive a welcome e-mail. Then, you can go online, explore the product line, and start your training. You may also build your personal website to sell products to customers and manage your business. Within the next few days, the person who talked to you about the Avon opportunity will follow up and offer you additional personal training opportunities to ensure that you get your business off to a successful start.

Using startAVON.COM Guide Have you already signed up? Here are some answers to questions you might have: I just finished signing up, and I want to get started. What do I do next? Your new account with AVON will be set-up within as little as 15 minutes and you can visit yourAVON.com to begin your training right away. When you completed the startAVON application process, your district and account numbers that were listed on the “Congratulations! Welcome to AVON” screen. Use those numbers to register at yourAVON.com. In addition to training, you can also enroll as an eRepresentative to set up a personal website where you can sell to your customers online. And you can read the latest Avon news and information and even browse the latest brochures. You should also receive a confirmation email within 24 hours that includes your account number and a link to yourAVON.com. I haven't received a confirmation email from Avon, what should I do? Double check your spam box to see if your email filter diverted your confirmation there. You do not need to wait for a confirmation email to register at yourAVON.com if you have your district and account numbers. I don't have my district and account numbers, what should I do? Your district and account numbers are secure and private numbers that you need to register at yourAVON.com and place your order. If you have lost those numbers, you should contact Avon Customer Care at 888-782-7815 (888-START15). Say "specialist" at the beginning of the prompts to be directed to a specialist who will ask you a series of security questions and provide you with those numbers. Am I going to receive any information besides the online training? A complete information packet (Appointment Kit) that includes brochures and samples is being sent to the address you provided when you completed the online application form. It should arrive within a week. The Sales Leader or District Sales Manager who referred you to startAVON will be contacting you for a training session. They will review the contents of the Appointment Kit and how to use them. What if I don’t receive my shipment? You should contact Avon Customer Care at 888-782-7815 (888-START15). How do I get in touch with the person who recommended that I become a Representative? The person who promoted the Avon opportunity to you should follow up with you over the next couple days to help you get started in your business. If you were referred to Avon by a Sales Leader, you can contact them through their personal website. You can access your District Sales Manager’s address through your "profile" on yourAVON.com under "support information". How can I sell to customers while I wait for those materials to arrive? When you register at yourAVON.com, you can become an eRepresentative and create and maintain a personal website. Login to yourAVON.com, and click the eRepresentative Opportunity under My Avon where you can start the enrollment process.
